By rerixo Go To Postare third party controllers expected to work on ps5?
Can I use third-party controllers, like the SCUF Vantage or Astro C40 TR, with PS5?
Existing “specialty” controllers that are designed for and licensed for the PS4 console, such as steering wheel controllers and arcade fight sticks, will work on PS5 if the PS5 or PS4 game supports it.
Licensed PS4 controllers with a standard gamepad formfactor, such as the SCUF Vantage and Astro C40 TR, will work with PS4 games played on PS5. They are not supported for playing PS5 games.
Also early days because I’m jumping around trying things but quick resume is going to be something you notice when you don’t have it.

I'm hoping when FedEx ships they update with a sooner date than Target's there's no way they will all come on the 18th.
By sy Go To Postshare videos, screens, something, it's a celebrationLol man I get it but even DF aren’t doing 4k 120 and HDR capture. I’ve played games like this at 27 inches but at 65 inches with surround sound is quite nice.
By Yurtlicious Go To Postwhole ass genres don't need to gimp their graphics just to achieve 60 fps
even for some shooters like Bioshock, I don't really care about performance there as much as the spectacle.
off the games I think you like, TW3. I'd rather max out everything than go for performance mode (if you can do both, that's great obv)
aside from Sekiro, Souls should focus on the spectacle, the combat is already not that demanding. A stable framerate would be nice though lmao
I wanted to ask which games to get an idea of what you meant in terms of choosing graphics over performance. Because there are some games where I'd set the lower limit at 120 fps and some where I would be happy with some dips to 50 fps as g-sync can handle it. For me, I really can't think of many where the lower limit of what I would consider acceptable would be 30 fps, and to be honest none of those you mentioned I would put in that category.
Obviously not having to make a hard choice between graphics and performance is pretty much the selling point of PC gaming. But I don't mean in terms of choosing both, rather choosing what you think is acceptable and what image you're happy with. For example, I can set resolution scale in AC Valhalla to 200% (so 5120x2880 internal) and play it at ~40 fps. The quality of the image I'm getting then is incredible, but it just doesn't play well. Or I can turn down some of the more expensive settings that don't add a great deal to bring the fps up to 80-90.
The reason I'm saying that is because it seems a bit strange to have a clear idea of the games where graphics should be prioritised over performance, when you have minimal control over those two things. What you're defining as the spectacle isn't always going to be that much more spectacular than what you'd get if you sacrificed some expensive settings for a better gameplay experience. And if the spectacle was important then wouldn't you want more control over it? Would you want to push the spectacle to the limit of what you consider an acceptable framerate? It doesn't really make sense to me.

indeed
played it for a couple hours. had the atmos track going to my arc too. been used to 4k120ish on my pc for a while, but it hits different on a massive oled screen.
what a time
By Smokey Go To PostStandard 1TB isn't enough btw.Nope. About to drop the money on the expansion card. Can't go back to playing even back compat games off my slow external drive.
By aka Espi Go To PostSmokey you got 2k on Xbox or PS5?
PS5
By sy Go To Postcapcom is trash wtf
so fucking bummed out at the lack of a divergence mode. might wait till sale
Watching Max stream this and....yea. He's not good at the game, but just going through the graphical options is a huge ass yikes (he's on Xbox). RTX on performance mode looks worse than the base game does. RTX on just tanks the frame rate. Between that and the lack of modes, Capcom was bugging. Vergil is the only reason to play this. Until this shit gets a patch, it looks like ray tracing isn't worth it, at all...
And here I was, salty, about the PC version lacking the bells and whistles.
@Bungie. I appreciate the detailed post xoxo
I don't expect it to make sense to you guys, it never will, I'm saying if they're making something like Bioshock, R&C, AC or in this case Spiderman, I'd much rather they go all out sacrificing a bit of performance rather than the other way around.
the last time From did it the other way around we ended up with Dark Souls 2.
it's nice that we (consoles) can pick between two modes now

My first Xbox experience in 10 years (Gamerscore 4810) and I'm downloading games from Game Pass that will be finished and ready to play tomorrow, lol.
Interface is snappy, but Microsoft loves all these tiles that I will never click on and have no interest in ever using.

...didnt we had a bunch of devs criticising the XSS?
It's not only the GPU, it's also making less bandwidth available, when 10GB @ 224 GB/s was barely enough for the 1440p target.
Microsoft can talk a lot about how their low cost console wont hold back anything, but they are often their own worst enemy. They can compare it to how current games perform on it as much as they want, but let's see how it would be in the next 2, 3 years.

I keep looking at comparison shots of Spiderman and Spiderman remastered, it clearly looks technically better now, but something about the change in lighting and colour tone makes it look a bit more generic too
