By Laboured Go To PostYep, it's like they've never had to light an environment larger than a court before.or design one. I remember emailing a couple of their UI designers about bugs that hadn't been fixed for 2 entries and they hit me back saying they hadn't checked in two years.
By Yurtlicious Go To Postthis is getting genuinely sillyI'm not the one complaning m8, it was just a general consideration. Spiderman and DeS are enough to keep me satisfied for 3-4 months on the PS5 side. XSX lineup is underwhelming as far as big exclusives games go, but it's a 6-years race, not a 6-months one. We're all going to make it.
guys define big games at release? Whether you like Spiderman and Souls or not (subjective) both are huge franchises that SELL (objective)
both showcase next gen spectacularly too

:lol
By sy Go To PostI don't get this, is there a Gears movie coming out?
No, but there is a push for someone to pick the franchise up and I suspect this is part of that.

I think people have every right to call out Sony and more so MS for the lack of big games at release. Personally it never bothered me, seeing how my backlog is always full of brilliant games to fall back on in (theoretical) times of need. Still, with new consoles one expects an influx of new games that showcase the hardware, so I don't think it's unreasonable to complain, though it is an argument that has been beaten to death.
All I really care about this time around is that a) both companies have consoles with hardware and features I'm pretty happy with, b) Sony looks to continue to focus and improve on their 1st party effort, which is the main reason I'm buying a PS5 and c) Microsoft has acquired some of my favourite studios and I'm very much looking forward to what the likes of Obsidian and ineXile will be able to produce with proper financial backing.
We'll be fine.
The discussion changed a bit from what I originally said, which was about people online picking up on reviews mentioning the lack of games that are solely playable on new Xbox hardware. I don’t think there was anything wrong with the conversation until it shifted to general criticism of comments that aren’t negative towards Xbox.
By sy Go To PostOutside of face scans, 2k/visual studios still absolute garbage99 US DOLLARS for the Kobe edition?
By data Go To Postside note: PGA Tour 2K21 - 1m (fastest selling golf game in 10 years)Damn, that's insane for a golf game.

This is a cool ad

because its from the future. nowhere in the ad does it claim to be the present in the last scene.
fake news.
fake news.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postdo we expect any next gen titles to be 30 fps locked? seems like it would be a for sure yes but these high frame rate targets are kind of feeling like a standardYeah.
I'm expecting both consoles to be 4k30 machines for next gen games, with only a few giving us 60fps modes / native.
....and even saying 4k is kinda pushing it, with many of those games will be upscaled at a lower resolution.
By Vini.lad Go To PostAre we getting something from PS5 tomorrow? Any embargoes ending?yeah, console and sackboy, astro and miles reviews
By Laboured Go To PostHrmm, it had a definite impulse purchase around launch vibe to it for me, not sure if I pick it up at all now, given it's not a free upgrade and the DLCs have reviewed relatively poorly

Like the Xbox Series X, the PlayStation 5 is also able to quick resume a game if you turn it off and come back to it later. Although the Switcher icon that some noticed on the Home menu is basically just a history button, showing you the last few games or apps that you used and starting them up from scratch if you want to play them again.
No quick resume
It’s unfortunate though that you have to choose between either having ray-tracing and all the trimmings at 30fps or 60fps with no ray-tracing and only upscaled 4K.
The amount the game steals from Batman: Arkham is still outrageous.Dude doesn't just looks like Horse.
By JesalR Go To PostNo quick resumeBut it is?
By Pennywise Go To PostDude doesn't just looks like Horse.I'm reading that as it having the sleep mode the PS4 had, but not the ability to keep 4-5 games state on the drive to pop back in to any of them the way Xbawks does

6 weeks later.
"[...] starting them up from scratch" reads like it's only for one game.

I understand that point as turning the game off and coming back later to it and not the console, but let's just wait for more reviews.

that's what the ps4 has as well, though.
but yeah, let's wait for more informed outlets to talk about this.
Think the PS5 storage is too scarce to consider that feature at the moment. Those RAM dumps add up fast.
Gotta say it would be cool to have quick resume even if realistically my use for it would be extremely limited.

By bud Go To Postthat's what the ps4 has as well, though. Some of the media apps on PS4 make you close the game, maybe the PS5 version of quick resume is restricted to one game but isn't interrupted by anything else you use the console for

Not a feature I'd have used much regardless, but would obviously be pretty useful for people who dip in and out of your CoDs and FIFAs
Quick resume for me is simply a non issue. I don't play multiple games at the same time, and with the new loading speeds, don't really see it as a problem.
It's almost a gimmicky thing imo.

If the card system in the OS doesn’t at least let me jump straight into a save, I would call that a big failure on Sony’s end. The speed is there.
Sold my pro so i got all my games on my HDD to transfer over and then accidentally disconnected the drive which caused it to be corrupted and lost it all :/ oh well

Let’s say you’re playing a multi hour GT endurance race. You can suspend it, enjoy playing a bit of Rocket League online, then jump right back into it.
Ouch
I filled two 2TB external HDD’s myself. Never thought of doing it before but now that I did it actually feels oddly comforting knowing I have my library stored this way.
