He’s pointing towards the spot where Mustafi should probably be, but even then he wouldn’t really be in a position to stop Vardy from where Vardy makes his run. Leicester were playing with one up top at that point. You would never have your defenders narrow to the point where Mustafi is on top of Vardy the moment Gabriel leaves his position in the middle.
The blame here is with whoever that is on the left that just drifts forward without thinking and then turns like a oil tanker when they realise the ball is on its way into the space behind them

If you can’t get there to immediately stop the shot or the cross then you don’t go. It’s not the easiest decision to make, but all you’re doing as a defender is leaving the striker with a tap in. It’s oversimplification to say you would assume responsibility for another player because you’re creating a more dangerous situation by doing so
edit: and when I say it’s not an easy decision to make, that’s why you sometime see commentators praise a defender who plays the percentages by controlling the space in the middle. If they position themselves correctly it gives the player on the ball a tougher decision to make about what the best option is

Well that was bad. Rodgers pretty much played his game plan perfectly and Arteta needs to rethink his tactical set ups. Not sure what else can be said, other than Saliba should be given a chance now and some creativity is sorely needed in the team, we're far too predictable atm.
