i keep forgetting demons souls isn't a launch title
so pre-ordering is literally only for marks
very tempted for the demon's souls launch though, but i kinda want them to release the console in black

you've worked yourself into a shoot, my lad.
the game is launching alongside the console.
By rerixo Go To Postbut i kinda want them to release the console in blackMe too, but it's confirmed those white plates are detachable so I imagine you'll be able to buy different colors down the line or even wrap them.
Hell, you can buy automotive grade 3M vinyl wrap on Amazon for cheap and DIY. It's like $18 for a matte black roll that's 5x1ft.

By JesalR Go To PostNot everyone is going up to 70. Ubi and CDPR will stay at 60 on PS5, at least initially
imagine ubi willingly missing out on extra money
By Smokey Go To Postimagine ubi willingly missing out on extra moneyThey already confirmed Valhalla, fenyx and watchdogs are 60 and are currently available to preorder at every retailer at those prices. No chance any 2021 game is less than 70 though.
What's actually surprising is that ok Amazon at least, the PS4/xbone versions are $50.00

Alot of cross-gen next games at Best Buy currently have the $10 back promotion that they use to run with more freq.
By Smokey Go To PostAlot ofEven better. Next gen upgrades are free for Valhalla and watchdogs so you can buy the $50.00 versions and eat.cross-gennext games at Best Buy currently have the $10 back promotion that they use to run with more freq.
No matter the price, the bottom line is still going to be anywhere between 10-20€ per game for me.
Enjoy the last disc console generation, brehs.

Even Nintendo.
By Flutter Go To PostRetailers that sell disc-based videogames have allocated almost exclusively the disc-based console version so they can make some money on said disc-based videogames versus the no money they'd get through a PSN purchase
By Laboured Go To PostUK lads I think Ebuyer are still doing them if you're searching. They can get fucked with £15 delivery

Eh? It's like £3. Max of £5.50ish for next working day.

This doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
Right now, pre-orders dwindled because retailers are being cautious and have no idea what kind of shipment they can expect from Sony and kept their numbers low. IIRC, PS4 pre-orders were similar where everything blew out quick and then new waves of pre-orders arrived weeks later.
I'd imagine within a few weeks a second and larger round of pre-orders go live.
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostThis doesn't make a lick of sense to me.See my post. Retailers are gonna push for the disc-based version because they need to sell disc-based videogames. The DE is a real fuck-you to brick and mortar and they don't want any part of it.

i havent played destiny since like June
I AM admittedly intrigued about it on PS5, but not at all interested in the direction they've gone with (europa, ice powers) for this expansion.
Much more interested in 4k 60 fps cyberpunk.
By Nelo Ice Go To PostI got a preorder of the disc PS5 on Amazon last night and Sony invited me to preoder tomorrow lol.

Tell me this, is there actually a benefit to the Pulse 3D headphones compared to your bog standard phones that you'd listen to music on?
By Punished* Go To PostTell me this, is there actually a benefit to the Pulse 3D headphones compared to your bog standard phones that you'd listen to music on?
The PULSE 3D™ wireless headset has been specifically tuned to deliver the 3D Audio made possible by the PlayStation®5 console. Powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech, the PS5™ console can put you at the centre of incredibly immersive soundscapes where it feels as if the sound comes from every direction. They had a rather big focus in the tech breakdown on their audio chip.
Whenever the headset is really worth it and makes a difference compared to the other headsets remains to be seen.
Gonna wait for some reviews.
Anyone know specifics on the mic functionality in the dual sense? I Fucking hate hate hate voices through standard audio. My surround sound system should only be playing sounds from the game itself. Convo to another device, but if the controller has a mic it probably means voices are going to the surround sound set up. So like blue tooth cellphone headsets again? I actually didn’t mind the shitty wired speaker / mic that came with the PS4

Wait. People actually used the controller mic?
I dunno if it's possible on the controller, but the headsets usually had the options in the quick menu to select your sound output.
Voicechat via headset and game sounds via TV etc. or both via headset.

Dual shock had no built I mic. It just came with that shitty wired one. I kinda figured headset was still the path forward and if the dual sense has a mic and no speaker then yeah I still need tbat cellphone headset
the lad jim confirming what we already knew:
Famitsu: We were also surprised when we heard that it will have 99% compatibility with PS4 titles. By the way, will there be compatibility with PS1, PS2, and PS3 titles?
Jim Ryan: We keep in mind the engineering specialized for the PS5, as we produced the device. In the midst of that, the PS4 already has 100 million players; we thought they ought to want to play PS4 titles on the PS5 as well indeed, so we included compatibility with the PS4. While implementing that, we also focused our efforts on taking in the high-speed SSD and the new controller DualSense at the same time. So, unfortunately, we couldn’t reach the implementation of such compatibilities.

By bud Go To Postthe lad jim confirming what we already knew:What a non answer. I suppose the only saving grace is that all 3 platforms would be SW emulated, so there's the smallest amount of a chance that someone comes in and tries to change PS direction. Strong doubt though

By cRrusheR Go To PostDE is sold out. Think people underestimated demand.Looking at stores here. The digital edition sold out at every retailer within around 4 hours. And the disc version took around 12 hours or so to sell out
Didn't think there'd be more demand for it than for the disc version tbh
Wasn't stock like 80/20 in favor the disc version? I just think they didn't make that many digital editions.
