By JesalR Go To PostSpeaking of Benfica, our club mouthpiece journos are saying Mourinho wants Dias as a CB signing, and some Portuguese media have said that he wants Carlos Vinicius as a strikerSelling Dias would be tragic for Benfica, he is their best center back and I think Vertonghen will be a bit disappointing. Benfica have been trying to sell Vinicius for a while, they thought they would get 60M€ for him but apparently Mendes told him that they wouldn't get more 45M€.
They need to sell, they invested over 80M+ so far and were counting with the more than 40M from the Champions League but that's gone.
Financial fair play states that clubs can't have employee benefits expenses exceed 70% of total revenue, Benfica were at 69% last season, they only let 1 one player with a big wage go and signed 7, at least 3 are on big wages and they are paying much more for their manager and staff than they did last year.
Garner > Thiago.
Mou also saying he has too many players lol. Not sure I really agree. Suppose there’s maybe one CM too many but otherwise it seems fairly normal.

Haven't seen enough of Vinicius to know how good he is though?

By n8 dogg Go To PostGarner > Thiago. From a squad perspective we're a bit unbalanced. We've also hit the non homegrown cap, so we need to shuffle a few out, especially if the one's we're bringing in are non homegrown too.

Could still see Foyth, Lamela, CCV, and probably Aurier being moved on
By JesalR Go To PostSounds like the timing is right then. Haven't seen enough of Vinicius to know how good he is though? He was joint top scorer with Taremi in the league last year with 18 goals but right now he isn't a starter for Benfica. I don't think he is worth the 45M€ Benfica will ask for and I definitely don't see Spurs paying that.

He's strong, could do well in the PL and a fair backup to Kane. Pretty sure the 45 million was a Spurs offer.

So wot we talkin
Lloris, Gazza, Hart
Doherty (who will be back up, Tanganga?)
Sanchez, Dier, Tanganga, Toby
Davies, Sess, Reguilon
Sissoko, Winks, Hojbjerg
Ndombele, Lo Celso
Lucas, Bergwijn, Gelson
Alli, Lamela
Bale, Son
Kane
Don’t think that looks too bad. Need a striker of course. Wonder if the plan is still to offload Ndombele, despite the positive words last night.

How is it that he's gone from top scorer to not a starter?
By n8 dogg Go To PostSo wot we talkinExpect Ndombele to stay, press who are close to the club have been adamant that he won't be allowed to leave. Imagine he's gone if he has a shitshow the next year though

He was so pissed when he didn't start the 17/18 CL final, he got subbed in and scored almost instantly, truth be told he had a very good year that season. The guy can't stay fit though, he's one of those players that will always get injured. I hope he does well with Spurs, I have a feeling he will fit in very well and hopefully can stay injury free.
lol
lol
Palhinha also tested positive. This sucks so much, we are probably going to be eliminated from Europa because of this fucking shit.

all of the top 6 have at least 1 or 2 world class players

By Cleff Go To Post1. Who?A youngster who I believe came from the Ajax pipeline who has a couple of appearances at 18 already.
2. Why?
Seemingly highly rated as others mentioned, which does make this a bit strange, though perhaps the emergence of Koumetio and Williams, and the signing of Van den Berg, made him less important
By Cleff Go To Post1. Who?I assume he'll be a RCB. Rare example of someone playing RB and CB that actually has good technique.
2. Why?
Was just looking up Vardy's stats and ended up on the PL Golden Boot wiki page... didn't realize that after Phillips there was a 15 year gap until another English striker won it. Crackers, that.

Liverpool trying to tread the fine line of finding a forward who is actually good but is also willing to sit on a bench a lot of the time.

I was watching Ismaila Sarr videos from when he was in France and he seemed fantastic. Downside being it's a farmer's league and he was one of the most unconvincing divers around.
By Punished* Go To PostOk, maybe Hoever business makes more sense now
Hmm

By Feorax Go To PostJota is decent. I’d be happy with him or Sarr.
I'd be ok with Sarr if Sancho doesn't pan out. Needs refining / coaching but his raw speed is outrageous.

Thiagoooooooooooo
Can't imagine we'll sign Jota or Sarr without shifting someone first. We're stacked.

Karius
Wilson
Grujic
Shaqiri
Possibly Origi
before Ki-jana would be sold.
Something something Moyes
Something something Thiago
Something something Giggsy
Incredible brief by the club when Dead Woodward himself was boasting how it was great for socials engagement that we were linked to 100+ players last window. Cunts.

Jota is worth a punt and he fits the profile of the signing we need. Not blowing me away but I’m encouraged to see new signings, especially ones that Klopp is pushing for.
Also the way that United social media article talks about players in terms of their trending status... Even as part of the generation that joined football digitally and from across the ocean, I’m a little bit disgusted
Jota is a decent signing for Liverpool. PL proven, still with potential to be even better. I quite liked him the last time he played for the NT, was one of the best in the game.
