By Hitch Go To PostDidn't Man Utd wait half a season to sign Fernandes for the same price they were originally given? Wouldn't exactly call it outstanding business to not sign horrendously overpriced English players, rather avoiding bad business.70m for a pelanty merchant innit
By Laboured Go To PostFair point I s'ppose.Might be time for some upcoming talent to ask for buyout clauses. đź‘€

Any such cardiac sequelae lingering weeks to months after the fact is clearly concerning, and we’re seeing more evidence of it. A German study found that 78 percent of recovered COVID-19 patients, the majority of whom had only mild to moderate symptoms, demonstrated cardiac involvement more than two months after their initial diagnoses. Six in 10 were found to have persistent myocardial inflammation. While emphasizing that individual patients need not be nervous, lead investigator Elike Nagel added in an e-mail, “My personal take is that COVID will increase the incidence of heart failure over the next decades.”^ of relevance to sportspeople getting Covid and the claim it poses "no danger" to young people.
Samuel called it “extremely dangerous” for athletes diagnosed with myocarditis to play competitive sports for at least three to six months, because of the risk of serious arrhythmia or sudden death, and several athletes already have made the decision to heed those dire warnings. We’ll likely see more such decisions in the very near future, as each sport enters its peak season.

By Xpike Go To Postits even more idiotic because the reason why games arent televised (so UK people go to the stadium) not only doesn't make sense right now, but has never made sense because every other country still has people going to see games live despite every match being televisedIt's to keep people going to lower league and non league games which seems to work as they apparently have better attendance than in other countries
yea the logic behind the 3pm ban is to keep attendances up in lower league and non-league football.
the effect is probably minor but i reckon its certainly worthwhile.

Well isn't like any of that applies to the situation now either, ban should probably be suspended until the 2021/2022 season
By GQman2121 Go To PostGrealish likely going to need to kick up a fuss this season if he ever wants to make the step up to a bigger side. Chelsea obviously think Havertz is the next midfield Hazard to justify spending that money. Don't think anyone views Jack that way.
Grealish is stuck there like Zaha and now Maddison
Maddison doing a new deal there was so dumb
Silvio Berlusconi has tested positive for COVID-19

More so than at any other club there always seems to be some bottom feeder ready to step in and offer praise.
Well done for not overpaying for James Maddison, and instead paying the asking price for two other players. “Outstanding business”.
I've never heard of Diangana

177 patrons he has.
I remember he really overplayed his hand when he said the film 1917 was "institutionally racist" because there was a scene with a load of Sikhs.

United lads correct me if I'm wrong but the Van de Beek signing from initial rumours to announcement was pretty short, no? Does that give you guys more confidence?

it seems like it was a deal that was always right there for us if we wanted it. rumors were up back in the summer about him wanting either United or RM.
At least we didnt fuck it up right?

I have zero confidence in our transfer setup. We brief incessantly about players we want, but you never get the sense that we are committed to them. It almost feels like we are just waiting for deals to fall in our lap instead of actively pursuing a manager's priority targets, and if we do have priority targets we treat them like value targets with a wait and see approach. Look at clubs like Chelsea knowing what the need and taking a punt on them. Might not work out, but there's confidence in their ability to integrate them or move them on if they fail.
I just can't explain why we balk at someone like Maguire for 60m, pursue literally no one else, then come the following window and agree to pay 80m instead. Or how we tell everyone Bruno is our guy, pass on him, get no one else, then come back crawling for him at the same price at the most dire point in our season. We are shocked players like Herrera leave on free deals, so we scramble to "protect" the value of players we want to get rid of by offering them new deals, then we fail to move them on, paying them top wages to do fuck all.
It's clear we are run by bean counters who completely misunderstand our leverage. We act like other clubs are the ones missing out on our riches when they hike up the price for us, that we are fine with waiting until they give in and come back hat in hand, when in fact it is the lack of success and ambition on the pitch that determines our level of need and actual negotiating leverage, and makes us seem desperate, even when we reach our goals.
