I thought Arteta largely got it right against us. Used the space behind the fullbacks with long passes from Luiz, and crowded the midfield, shutting off most of the passing lanes.
That said, Arsenal’s press is pointless with how they do it, and it was easy for us to go straight to the forwards. They don’t press as a team, it’s always only one person chasing down the receiver of the pass, and they don’t seem to look for openings or specific triggers, just every pass is the same routine.
Expecting an away win at Anfield isn’t a realistic endeavor anyway. Arsenal did about as well as they could given the gulf in quality in the squad. Xhaka, Elneny, Luiz, Maitland Niles, Leno compared to Keita, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Alisson.. it’s a big ask.
I think Keïta was sensational and he’s quietly becoming the player for which we hoped. His skill on the ball in tandem with his movement and pressing make him the perfect fit for us.

Liverpool were absolutely relentless in pressing us, we couldn't even get out of our own half most of the time :(
Every time one of our players got on the ball, there were 3 or 4 Liverpool players around him, was so suffocating lol. That said, I do think we played better once Cellabos came on, he added a bit of drive to the midfield and there were a few great through balls from him.

Yeah, really like Keita. Needs to add more tangible impact to his game but he’s clearly a really good player. Same with Ndombele to be honest - they’ll absolutely thrive once they’re over injury issues

I've never been as confused about a transfer strategy in my life, unless it's pure incompetence. And for some reason I'm not actually convinced it is pure incompetence (yet).

I didn't watch the EL game but he must have impressed the hell out of Maldini with how quickly things are going through.

I didn't watch the EL game but he must have impressed the hell out of Maldini with how quickly things are going through.I’m excited because he was very good against us, he has something like 14 goals and 9 assists in 17 games in the league and is coming in very cheap. There is a lot of upside for little risk.
Apparently we’ve had our eyes on him and several others in Scandinavia for a time now. Is this how it feels when you have a proper scouting network? Wow.

Seriously, Moncada has unearthed some real gems for us.

I'm surprised considering our fixture schedule but I guess an exit must be very close. It's a shame but being honest he has coasted for too long and has not really shown that he can play at this level without Dembele and Eriksen doing most of the hard work. Son and Kane maintained a consistent level despite the team falling apart whereas Dele turned into Lingard.
I also don't think he has matured very much as a person and player, he's a manchild which is something I'm sure Mourinho hates. He is taking this season seriously and wants players who will do the same. I always believed in Dele and I still think he can turn his career around, but we are playing better without him. A move away will be good for all parties.
It's an idiotic foul throw because he gains no advantage from it, releases it too late when his arms are level with his head
By batong_doicare Go To PostThere's more video footage from after he releases the ball than from the movement prior to and the release of the ball
"I've been doing that my whole life"
💀
Reminder that this was his SECOND foul throw of the match.

Laird promoted to the first team squad as AWB's back up. Could be a sign that Dalot is on the way out.
