I think it's pretty clear that Guardiola's tactics (and in general the tactics from any total football coach: LvG, Bielsa, etc) are focused on the attacking aspect of the game while it obligates the defensive side. Guardiola has tried to solve this with possession and dominance, leaving the rival teams with little changes to test the defensive line (at least on a good day), but when the rival manages to break that ball dominance, the defenders are left alone to try and solve the situation on a one-on-one wild west fashion, so Pep always relies on the individual qualities of their defenders rather than seeing the defensive line (and the whole team) as a unit that has to work together to defend on a more systemic way.
By Feorax Go To PostIf you asked me 3 months ago who I thought would look our most likely challengers for the title next season, never in my wildest dreams would I have said Leicester, Arsenal and fucking Everton.
Itβs two games in. Letβs not get hasty.

Wonβt find any of us bemoaning luck like that little b*tch
Garcia was excellent in the first half but fell apart in the second. If I had one real complaint about Pep after all these years itβs that I donβt think we adjust well at HT. Other coaches seem like they really get their teams fired up to beat us in the second while we rarely kick it into high gear.

Villarreal trying to play counter attacking football without knowing how to counter attack, pretty disappointing given their transfer window.
