You would think when it happened in the final of a major competition they would have realised how stupid their interpretation of the rules was
No one enjoys this bullshit. Fucking stupid rules trying to take even more responsibility off refs and VAR
By Fergie Go To PostFuck me, just aim for the opposition players arm when in the box. Might as well. This is what I been saying. It's soo dumb. Number of pens already in crazy.
I can’t remember what the number was, but the league is close to the number of handball penalties last year already
By Bungie Go To PostI can’t remember what the number was, but the league is close to the number of handball penalties last year already
Absolutely bonkers
We've gone from goals by attacking players being disallowed for ridiculous inoculous handballs to penalties being giving against defenders for ridiculous inoculous handballs.
This is football
This is football
its what happens when you get people who have never played a match of footy in their lives to make the rules
By JesalR Go To PostThis game has huge 92nd minute 1-1 energyFucking hell
i don't see the big deal.
this is a penalty. 100%.
whether he did it on purpose or not, his arm is going towards the ball. you're taking the risk of hitting the ball when you're flailing your arms like that.
now, i do agree that if your arm is glued to your body when a ball is coming at you, it can never be a penalty; that's simply unreasonable and unfair.
You're punishing players for a natural movement as you jump, especially when you get an arm in the back. With effect, it says that your either don't jump, or the attack gets a pen if they can hit your arm from a yard
only reason his arms extended is because he's pushed from behind, might as well amputate every defenders arms if thats how the games going
By Ushojax Go To PostHe had his back to the ball FFSIs there a gif of this? It sounds exactly like the penalty Juve got against Milan last season.
We should walk off the pitch
By Fergie Go To PostYepp, that's the one.

wait is this what people are complaining about lmao

Exactly, Learn to jump with your hands behind the ball.
I'm not, I'm complaining about the rule in general. It's not even being applied consistently, Arsenal had a similar handball and it wasn't even checked.
Consistency is a problem for sure, I dont think the rule itself is. At least not in this instance right here. Sure he isnt trying to hit it with his hand, but if your arm blocks a head in the box like that.... i think it's pretty damn fair a penalty is given.
By JesalR Go To PostThis is more ridiculous.
Shambles, this is how Newcastle got the freekick that led to the pen
By Plasma Go To PostThat handball rule is ridiculous, how is Dier supposed to move his arm out of the way there?
He's not. He's just supposed to not have his arm in this position really, or run the risk of a hand ball cause it literally blocks the ball
It's not easy to control your hands completely when jumping for a ball, and accidents like that will happen. But given it is no less fair towards, than not giving it, when it blocks a header in the box.
By Cleff Go To Post€27m option? There is no way Lazio would be willing to pay 27m, especially for Perreira....
So really it's just a loan then.
Chelsea's 3rd should have been disallowed too. Clearly hit Havertz's arm in the buildup to the goal....
By rossonero Go To PostThere is no way Lazio would be willing to pay 27m, especially for Perreira….
Yeah rumors of the reason for Copenhagen getting Vavro back, is that they are desperate for cash.... and then they use 27m for Pereira? lol
Just reading up and also bit shocked the outcry is about this penalty.
Does Dier do it intentional no, probably not but he should know that volleyball-ing around like that in the penalty box is a risk.
And if you think that is bad, go watch some serie A, they are completely bonkers with their decision making.
wow

IFAB have also issued a reminder that a player cannot score a goal with their arm, even if it is accidental.
An accidental handball by an attacking player or team-mate will only be penalised if it occurs immediately before a goal or a goalscoring opportunity.
If an attacking player accidentally touches the ball with their hand or arm and then scores a goal, or the ball goes to another attacking player and they immediately score, this is a handball offence.
But it is not a handball offence if after an accidental handball the ball travels some distance via a pass or a dribble, or there are several passes before the goal or goalscoring opportunity.

Imagine if Sebastian Hoeneß wins the league with Hoffenheim
No shame in Robert Skov winning the league imo

You gotta be kidding. His arms does the same movement as Carrol’s. It’s what happens when you jump.
Paços de Ferreira announces that two of their players have tested positive. We play against them in 2h, hopefully there are no more infected players after this...

dier's arm goes up while he's coming down. it makes an entire swing upwards.
there is absolutely no need for that.

Carrol’s arm does the exact same. The ball comes from behind Dier, they are extremely close.
It’s an horrible pen. No point defending this shit show.
