“Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman has died at 43. His Twitter account reported that he had been battling colon cancer.
:(
Still in shock. Legit had no clue he was sick. I’m not one to get emotional over celebrity deaths but this hurts.

It is pretty incredible what he did and accomplished the last 4 years while likely feeling like absolute shit all the time and no one having any clue

Heroic accomplishments whilst he was going through the hell of cancer. Incredible strength of character.
RIP.
RIP.
Uplifted so many black folks with his role in Black Panther, and he was just getting started. All while he was sick :(
2020 is a shitshow
RIP to the brother

Really awful. Must have been hard to have to keep that quiet all those years. Incredible that he was able to work at all.
Horrible news to wake up to.
So talented - BP was a great flick really charged and empowered black folk all over the world.
Had no idea he was so ill.

My mom was able to fight through breast cancer 6 years ago but seeing her go through that was incredibly hard for her and us. I cannot imagine how much strength Chadwick had to have stage 3 colon cancer, go through multiple surgeries and chemo sessions and still be able to make amazing films. Just truly heartbreaking news

This is wild. If you’ve seen Da 5 Bloods, the guy is lean and muscular and full of fucking energy and charisma. Incredible to think he was battling cancer too.
I always find it awkward when people say they’re battling or fighting cancer; I think that it kind of demeans those who don’t have that energy to do anything but rest or sleep. But man... this is just a powerful show of willpower.
Feel for his family and his friends and all those kids who he inspired.

I got a really hard time putting my thoughts into words on this one. I knew he was sick months ago. Definitely not cancer, but something...
I just can't really be that sad once I understand how he looked at the timer on his life and see what he decided to do with it. He knocked it out of the park. Some of the most admirable stuff I've ever seen. People would say he looked irritable or less engaged at certain appearances but if that was the worst that he allowed a prying eye to see while battling this shit? Fuck
This is more inspiring to me than any role he portrayed on film. RIP to a damn hero. He gave away so much of his time when he knew he didn't have much at all to give... Peak human

This is the only celebrity death that hit me and I actually cried. Part of it is the reminder that I’m higher risk for colon cancer and the other part is what DY said. I remember the memes after Black Panther when he looked tired and now with hindsight, dude was probably just fucking exhausted between the press tours and cancer.

My mortal ass needs to go hug my kids ... Jesus
So fucking saddened to hear this last night.
I never understood when news came out months ago that he wouldn't reprise Black Panther in future movies, but now I do. 4 years to keep something like this a secret and work through it is incredible. RIP

Rest in peace to the brother. I remember watching 42 with my nephews who were 6 and 8 at the time, they got their popcorn and everything and we watched it in the living room, that's the first movie front to back that I remember them just being quiet the whole way through and asking questions after.

i don't think that ever happened.

The ability to get into super hero shape while your body is completely shutting down is what blows me away.
