Bucks going to address media shortly. I saw earlier video Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook meeting with a few players in the hallway of the arena discussing stuff, keep forgetting he's head of the PA.
Happy to see the players taking a stand for what they believe in. Not sure if the end game is canceling the season or postponing until the officers are arrested. Either way, respect.
If the players union said they’ll play when all the officers are arrested, that’s when they’ll get arrested x start shit
Once you mess with the higher ups money is when you’ll see change

Also, saying "what does it change?" etc, misses the point. It takes time for movements to figure out their course of action. They're meeting later, they need to discuss a whole bunch and they'll figure out something. It's always been an argument of conservatives: "what can you really do?". Well, once you take the time to figure it out, you do. So, the meeting at 8pm is a huge step and also it's an inspiration for workers all over.
By domino Go To PostYeah them sitting out is the right call. I was dumb earlier because I didn’t realize who they were trying to send a message to. It wasn’t us or any other regular citizen, it was their dumbass employers continuing to ignore the real issues.
word? aight mgmt.

Some of you guys need to cool down your natural tendency to be cynical. I know that most of people's comment on the game here is depreciative, always has been for luls, but this is really cool and should be applauded. Baseball following suit is crazy.

Baseball following suit is crazy.Man, I imagine black people have all the right in the world to be cynical during times like these and not expect any of this shit to matter. Positivity can only take you so far and thus far it's given nothing but lipservice and social justice statements on the back of jerseys.
None of this will translate to real, actual, legislation. If you think American politicians are paying attention to this shit then you're lying to yourself.

I don't think you've paid attention to conversations we've been having over the years then, that's usually something I say about you or other friends.
I'm a big believer in social movements. Politicians are slaves to power and to trends. Here, players are exercising power. It's beyond lipservice. Sometimes you start with lipservice and you continue with substantial actions.
Pretty sure this will have an impact on Milwaukee's city budget fwiw.
The only way this would take effect is if all pro sports stopped playing
And for more than a year to not make money x put a hole in pockets
They’ll just have more BLM commercials as the response

god im sick of this 'please be excited for this monumental point in history' stuff like philanthropy and marketing aren't tied together at the hip. i get to be tired and being tired doesn't make me the asshole.

I support what the Bucks did and the courage they showed, I'll never say a bad word about those players again. But, the stuff after? Nah a lot of wave riding that gonna vanish in 2 weeks until another black man, woman or child is killed.
If mindshare translated into permanent political action being undertaken, the United States would look very different as a country.
Many laws have been passed via mindshare only to be systematically dismantled one legislation at a time over the subsequent years. The Voting Rights Act alone should have you know that it's so very easy to undo one nip and tuck at a time.
The entire country was extremely angry when children were shot up at an elementary school, and yet, years later...

By Pac-12 Go To Postthat did make me laugh.
I think we agree more than you guys think. I share some of your pessimism. I also think optimism can be performative: optimism does bring progress (that's why ad agencies and other phonies fake it). Some days are better than others. Today's a good one. Of course, if you listen to CP3, he'll just say, let's vote Biden and that's it. But it's giving birth to different approaches, and I'm still impressed by guys like Jaylen Brown and so many others. I wish sports figures here in Europe were as involved as NBA players.
yeah I think its neat but I also got to see some actual action npw. Its been a bunch of fluff so far

There's skepticism and passivity. I always express doubts in movements i'm a part of. And I applaud those who do do stuff.
As to discussions as to what should be done and could be done, yeah, that usually comes down to discussing the validity and potentiality of each other's reactions.
