the media might not but the fans will be clowning again. "oh this mf must be back depressed again shooting 2/15"
By aka Espi Go To Postor it's waiving it away because it's a bs excuse. Unless you're a teenager, mental illness isn't a 2 week thing.This. It's on-going not a "bad day" type of thing.
When I went through depression it didn't matter what I accomplished, it never made me feel good because the whole reason I was depressed was never addressed. If one good playoff game puts depression in the past it was never depression in the first place
PG has disappeared in the playoffs before lol
I can see Jaylen Brown leaving the bubble, probably most of the raptors too

You know you're kind of a joke and trash person when Chuck self-depricates just to call your ass out.
By DY_nasty Go To Postlittle help lol those teams were loadedVs Miami with prime bron, wade and Bosh and 7 games.
By DY_nasty Go To PostThat kind of thing doesn't highlight mental illness, it minimizes it.
Had a great week, glad that's behind me *wew* - is so far from how people actually deal with depression that it's upsetting.
Had good week. Time to get off the meds!

Yeah but now he wont need to explain or defend himself cause someone from Era or whatever will be on twitter rocking large frame glasses and a flannel in their avi defending PG when they never watched a second of the NBA before.
He frauding hard and it's a brilliant play.

offering someone a million dollars to have an abortion then getting them pregnant again must weigh on the mind
I disagree with mental health not playing a factor. Also, it's the "villain narrative" that's fabricated, if that wasn't clear. Weak people need enemies, head honchos, big bads. Complexity and chaos is overwhelming, right?
Look, here's the reality. You're not gonna find a team free of moral dubiousness or self-centeredness. Welcome to the NBA. Yes, there's a reason to believe Morris was intentionally trying to injure Doncic, especially taking his history into account, AND there's enough room to think it was accidental. As tribalists, we're going to lean more towards the position we have a stake in, intentionally or otherwise. If Morris was really out there bruising, I hope it comes back to bite him. Real talk, call a spade a spade. For all the gross mindsets in the NBA, we should be going for clean wins, and if people aren't onboard with that we don't need them.
As for Paul George, he's been fronting as a guy without inhibitions. When things don't go his way, he has no beneficial or healthy recourse. Whether that's all a conscious, malevolent smokescreen or indicative of long-term neuroses is between him and the therapist I hope he keeps seeing. He's vocal, driven, and ambitious. And deeply insecure. If there was nothing there, the Playoff P narrative would have been dead in the water. He can post "I don't give a shit what you think of me" and it's obvious he really does. Sure, some people who are driven more from spite and abuse think he's "soft," fake, and unappealing. Some people, however, thrive on encouragement, and it sounds like his team provided that for him.
The Clippers are fast becoming "The Most Hated Team In The League" this round not just because they're a good team with dark-skinned, aggressive confident people going up against a European superstar on the team that actively courts them, but because Clippers fans aren't numerous enough to create a competing narrative. Especially when insecurity also plays such a large role in fanbases, none larger than the older brother LA team accustomed to glory. That's not the whole of it, though. There are more rational reasons to be against the Clippers, as cooler heads will tell you:
I don't agree with the assessment of unwarranted cockiness, and the larger, less cogent forces behind the anti-Clippers wave are not negated here, but I'm taking this perspective into account. It's not entirely necessary to launch into victimization and defensiveness and ad hominems, easy as it may be.
All this to say I'm not a stranger to being bullied, excluded, and underestimated. All these old emotions are playing into my own reasoning here, and I'll admit that. Still, after the last game I was onboard for PG just being a narcissistic dickhead who talked a big game but crumbled under pressure. This is reflective of my own quick judgment and inexperience. I was still viewing him as a probable liability until I watched the postgame. Mental health issues and inferiority complexes are familiar to me, as is being emotionally driven by the feeling of powerlessness. It's dependent on outside factors first and foremost. Yes, it can be flipped on and off. No, that doesn't mean it's not real. Yes, the most effective remedy is positivity and solidarity. I do know there's a balance between being self-reliant in some areas and dependent on support in others, and I know George likely doesn't have his shit together at 30. That doesn't mean I have to hate him.

1. People just love to hate the favorites (see Warriors, Heat, Lakers, etc) 2. There may be people here or there mad at Kawhi, but I think most of it is directed at PG as a microcosm of the team’s energy (perceived or not): pouting and talking shit about the other team when he’s not performing, then immediately being extremely cocky in a win when he’s on obviously the way better team and has been carried hard since far. Add to that that most of the players on your team haven’t performed on a big stage and/or don’t have many accomplishments before coming to the clips this year (outside of Kawhi, Lou Will) and acting cocky (Pat and Trez and Morris cheering is one thing but relentlessly mocking other teams/players is another), and people see them as a bunch of entitled players riding Kawhi’s coattails to what they see as a guaranteed chip. I’m not saying all of that is 100% true/deserved, but take a step back and it’s not hard to see why people feel that way

I'm more doubtful to PG's issues being a thing of the past than I am of him ever having the issues at all. Anxiety is probably a big reason for him struggling in big moments and I don't think those issues are over just because he had a good game.
More than just a bout of the blues, depression isn't a weakness and you can't simply "snap out" of it. Depression may require long-term treatment. But don't get discouraged. Most people with depression feel better with medication, psychotherapy or both.
That’s the Mayo Clinic’s opinion. Or we can just go with sy and Playoff P and say one good basketball game is enough and that clocking out at the end of your shift cures all.

I’ve been depressed at work so I can say this with confidence.
Him being a scumbag/asshole still doesn't change with or without depression so eh. Keep my sympathy for people who don't treat others like shit.
By masud Go To PostYou guys are sick, taking serious issues and using them to push your bullshit narratives…You can fuck right off with that. If anyone is doing that it's Paul George.

The fact this is even a real discussion for a lot of players means their hearts aren't really in the bubble. If the bucks do this, those other teams definitely will too.
