By GQman2121 Go To PostI think if Messi does have a clause that allowed him to leave in May that it should be extended - given the circumstances of the season - and he should be free to sign elsewhere. The argument that clauses should be extended was addressed in the Athletic article as well - they pointed out that the original clause was for June 10th, which is 20 days before the contractual end of the season of June 30th. The current season would most likely be finished August 23rd, after the CL final, while Messi failed to send his request til the 25th, which means even if a court accepts the clause should apply later, he's still far too late under the spirit of the original
But if he doesn't, then he's a piece of shit and needs to honor his contract and be treated like any other player pushing for a transfer.
We know his €700m buyout is more than anyone would ever realistically cough up and pay. His true value in the market is probably 25-30% more than Neymar's transfer if that.
I bet City pay Barca £250m + Eric Garcia or someone else.
messi is a legend. he's given barca so much.
and it's not like he's leaving in his prime either; he's thirty fuckin' three.
barca should let him go for free, imho.
don't think he's top team material. he's too inconsistent.

By inky Go To PostDepay strikes me as a lolerpool signing. Glad they don't have the funds for it.

Anyway, haven’t seen enough of van de Beek to know whether he’ll be great, I’m just surprised we’ve made a signing in the only outfield area we’ve got some decent depth. Can’t see him usurping Pogba and Bruno as a guaranteed starter, can’t see them playing as a three, so it’s an interesting buy in terms of what our plan for him is. Not going to complain that we’re getting a good player for a good price that adds quality to our squad. Just curious where our attention goes now Sancho is out of the question.
I have a very irrational dislike for Chiesa, as he can never perform for me in fm. But any other manager makes him work. Cunt.
Whoever edited Van de Beek’s Wikipedia page is a mad lad.
“While playing for the Ajax academy, he was compared with Davy Klaassen. However, Van de Beek rejected the comparison and said that he was a player who wanted to keep the ball at his feet.”
Davy Klaassen comparison fucking hell hahaha

We need far greater strength in depth. VDB will bring that.
He'll start plenty of games with Pogba and Bruno anyway. Matic had a good season, but near the end of it it's clear he was knackered and his performances dipped. The coming season is already going to be a disaster for fixture congestion. Matic won't be able to keep up..
It's bad news for McTom and Fred tho. They've both had decent seasons, but this signing pushes them further down the pecking order. Both of them are decent footballers, but it's clear that technique wise they can be sloopy. From what I've seen if Donny he's mike's better on the ball.

Surely a Poggy, Bruno, VdB three is too open
By n8 dogg Go To PostSurely a Poggy, Bruno, VdB three is too openIt is too open. But it's also too open when Fred or McTom start as the sitting midfielder. At least with VDB we'll have someone who's better on the ball.
If we were serious about Grealish, which it seems we were then VdB is clearly the better option. Cheaper, has CL experience etc.
If this means we see less and less of Fred then I'm more than happy.
^ also that kit is a disgrace

By n8 dogg Go To PostWonder who our RW target isCheaper alternatives from the Bundesliga would be Nkunku from Leipzig (I'm not a big fan tbh), Bailey from Neverkusen (left foot, but he's far better on the right side) and Thorgan Hazard (will be also hard to convince Zorc, but won't be as costly).

Shit, I would have taken him instantly for that

So he's just embarrassed and wants out. That's fine.
Think £200m+ gets it done and he eventually get's sold. I don't think he ever wears the shirt again.
