UEFA chief admitted that the FFP regulations in place are not doing enough to keep the competition balanced and is ready to discuss a new tax system for the clubs who spend the most.
“FFP is not enough anymore, we have to do something to take care that, if you spend too much, by our regulations you have to give something back to the others.
“Why is competitive balance so important? Because otherwise competition is not interesting anymore, it becomes boring and we don’t what that to happen.”
By Lego Go To PostChelsea bought an entirely new front 4, meanwhile United sold Lukaku for £75m and brought in Ighalo on loan from China. Different levels.<3

Remember when the Barca boys here were saying Rakitic is the best Croatian player? lol... Meanwhile Modric is pushing 35 and still world class with a BDO to his name. The collapse of Barcelona has been delicious, I have enjoyed this journey very much :)

By Nonja Go To PostThe Ansu Fati that was supposed to be the second coming of Messi? No... lol, the kid is pure trash hype, please don't get fooled into the hype Barca fanboys here built up.
A load of shite but signing a worse player for more money would be very us.

By Nonja Go To PostDoesn't mean he was the best that year m8.I'm shit posting fam, don't mind me. He may not be the best ever but he was fucking fantastic that year (and previous years, and the years to come). Arguably one of the best midfielders, it says something that he broke the Ronaldo/Messi domination - much like Lewa would have this year mind you.

still got 400+ retweets somehow
probably the supporters of other clubs
I’d honestly be okay if United only signed 2 players this summer, and I’d prioritise right wing and left back. I think United would look deadly with actually rapid, attacking full backs. Wan-Bissaka is great (despite looking tired post lock down), and with someone as creative as Sancho ahead of him, he’ll be fine.
But Luke Shaw is up and down, and we looked so much worse without him, imagine if he was a genuine attacking threat. He can rotate, and even cover at left centre back. With Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly and Axel, Ole can make do.

By domino Go To Postchelsea actually trying while we stand around dick in hand smhChelsea really aren't a model to follow for anyone. They've gone out and paid the asking price for a bunch of very high profile stars and that's it. It might work out very for them, but nothing about it is super competent - United are just super incompetent. High Competence in the transfer market should mean identifying lesser known players, getting bargain deals (which tbf Chelsea did do by snatching up Werner), signing the players you need in the positions you need, and ultimately having your transfers be a success
United are in a weird position tbf
People know they have unlimited funds
People know they're far from what they were and that they need world class players
People know they are incompent at signing players
So they'll try to get every single penny that they think they can get it from them
I can't remember the last bargain signing they had. Feels like every player is over 50m for them at bare minimum.

Ziyech and Werner were bargain deals and Chilwell will be bought for 50m when just last week every journo was saying we'd need a world record fee of 80m to get him. Thiago Silva on a free too is just ridiculous value.
Of course you we can still get rinsed if these players flop miserably lol, but the negotiations from Marina, Cech, and Lampard seem pretty damn good on paper right now. Wonder what will come out of signing a new GK.

lol chilwell was never going to cost more than 50m, and havertz has pepe vibes
werner, ziyech, and t silva are good bits of business though.
so overall I think it's fair to call that competent, at the very least just for the pace of dealmaking

Bit of a shame but probably the right thing for him and the club, I doubt he was ever going to be starting every week for us.

I kind of hate talking about if a transfer is good value or not, because of how bloody random performances can be. A good example is Riyad Mahrez. His success played a big part in the reputation of Steve Walsh, but how good a signing was he really? He spent 6 months as a Championship level winger, spent a year in the PL without distinguishing himself, and then suddenly became one of the best in the league overnight. Did Walsh plan for him to spend 18 months as an utterly unremarkabl player before going supernova? Or did he just get lucky?
Or for a bigger name, which current top class attacker scored 4 goals and got 1 assist in his first season after a big move? This wasn't someone slowly introduced or anything either, he just flopped in his first season and then rapidly got up to speed.

Anyone here who says they've watched more than two Leverkusen games this season is a liar. Including the Bundesliga lot.
