You could suddenly do a Shanks and mean all those terrible things he says.
Just because someone says something that goes against the consensus doesn't make it terrible.
I'm usually right, and I am big enough to admit when I am wrong on the rare occassion.
By Probity Go To PostI think it depends on which version of Thiago we get.we really need a DM in the center of the pitch or else we're get ran over.
Pavard as RB and Kimmich as DM with Thiago alongside him is the way. This is the way
By Elchele Go To Postwe really need a DM in the center of the pitch or else we're get ran over.Oh I see. I mean, I completely agree. Kimmich is too dangerous to leave at right back anyways. I don't know though, Thiago was really rough against Lyon. I don't want to watch him give the ball away all game. Goretzka plays much better off Kimmich than with Thiago, too.

By Wahabipapangus Go To PostDear General Dane. Who are yousome guy from gaf, believe back then you went by woodenlung yes?
Lyon were literally cutting through Bayern's suicidal defense with one pass consistently, not sure how they can handle Neymar, Di Maria and Mbappe's pace.
but then again they can't finish for shit so this could well end up Bayern 3 - 2 PSG
a PSG win nets Inter an extra €2m for Icardi lol.

People actually think PSG are favourites?
Bayern are winning this, PSG's defence is nothing special & Alfonso Davies is going to have field day running up the wing because Di Maria sure as fuck isn't tracking back.

Di Maria always tracks back lol. Weird choice of player to pick on in a side that has Neymar.

This season:
Di Maria 0.7 tackles per game & 0.4 interceptions
Neymar 0.8 tackles per game & 0.3 interceptions

Does tackling mean that you track back more
By n8 dogg Go To PostDoes tackling mean that you track back moreIf you 'track back' more but do it poorly is that better.
By Yurtlicious Go To PostDi Maria's averaging 0.9 tackles actually, not that it matters. You're looking at the wrong stats, i quoted the French league stats. If you want to compare Champions League stats it's Di Maria's 0.9 tackles per game to Neymar's 1 .2.
tracking back is not tackling back, it's occupying withdrawn positions and covering gaps.
what makes Di Maria particularly dangerous is that he's a brilliant passer, he was starting attacks all the way from their D. Like literally crossing it to Neymar or Mbappe for a quick counter

Di Maria isn't their fullback
lmao I'm not sure why you would quote the french league stats when it's a UEFA cl game, players and teams play (and are set-up) differently there.
again, not that it matters.

Pretty basic rule of football, your fullback marks the opposition winger & your winger marks their fullback when they attack. PSG's right fullback Kehrer (who is very average) is going to have his hands full with Gnabry so that leaves Di Maria with Davies.
I quoted the league stats because you only play a handful of Champions League games in a season which can skew the stats, but it makes no difference, if you compare the cl stats it's Neymar's 1.2 tackles & 0.3 interceptions vs Di Maria's 0.9 tackles & 0.4 interceptions.

If Wijnaldum does in fact go to Barcelona, I’ll be heartbroken. He’s such a fantastic and underrated player who almost never has a bad game, and one who raised his game markedly during his time with us
One thing's for sure. We'll see plenty of goals and chances today. And that alone will make it a fun final.
I see Simon Mullock says we're shelving plans to sign Sancho. Economics of the deal don't make sense apparently. Doesn't wash with me though. We would've known the price tag for months and what Sancho would want in wages etc. He's been our main transfer target for two years now and we can't get the deal done. Another failure on Woodward's part of it doesn't happen.
By Yurtlicious Go To PostDi Maria tracks back, the end.Tracks back poorly, sure.

That highline vs mbappe neygod di maria will be really interesting
If Lyon had a player half as good as Andy Carrol up front they would have scored 3 goals against Bayern
There'll be goals at least

Another failure on Woodward's part of it doesn't happen.Whilst I'm sure there's plenty of incompetence to go around, knowing requested prices and wages doesn't necessarily mean you can't negotiate and get a better deal. In the end Dortmund had no need to sell so they could stand firm.
The main issue is that once again United failed to keep their transfers close to the chest, so they'll end up looking stupid. There are probably lots of other clubs who thought they could bring in top targets until the virus hit, but no one knows because it wasn't shared by connected journos
Raul is taking our youth team to the finals, his post-match conferences sound so much like Zidane's, all about that suffrismo.
Our current U19's really had a good shot at the Youth League. But missing their 4 best players has proven too much against Benfica.
By Linius Go To PostOur current U19's really had a good shot at the Youth League. But missing their 4 best players has proven too much against Benfica.Remember Viktor Fischer (and João Teixeira) destroying Liverpool in the first iteration of the youth cl. Was sure Fischer would be a star
Not in particular, but we've always performed quite well in the tournament. I think it's good the youth players have a big international tournament like this, brings a different kind of pressure than playing against some local youth team. And it's pretty fun to watch. Too bad most games are in the afternoon so I can hardly see it live.
My prediction is a 1-0 PSG win, because I feel like the unstoppable juggernaut of oil and blood money Is due its big stage win.
Bayern are for sure favourites, but........I think PSG are going to do it. Just a feeling really, there's space to get behind the Bayern back line and if anyone can get behind it...

PSG isn't really that stable either.
No, and Bayern feel like the more complete team, but I have the same feeling as Will. Maybe it’s just 2020 pessimism.
