We cannot buy anyone until we sell somebody, but it's not exactly like we have people lining up to get Lingard and Pereira off us. Smalling is going to take some time too. Jones is going nowhere, unfortunately. Big brain move to give him a 4 year deal to "protect" his value of £0

Can already see Bayern taking him as Boateng replacement, after they get rid of Hernandez as well.

Bayern got 4 CBs with Boateng, Parvard, Süle and Hernandez. Parvard is playing RB mostly and Süle tore his ACL a while ago. Hernandez still sits on the bench and their starting CBs are a LB with Alaba and a CB who they wanted to offload last summer.
Boateng bounced back under Flick, but not getting past Alaba is not really a good look for an 80m € signing.
€60m is a lot of money in a post rona market. There's a small small group of clubs who could afford that, basically just PSG, Clubs de Manchester, and Chelsea. Near enough everyone else was either already running up against financial constraints or were fucked by the market.
Fairly surprised none of the English cabal above went in for him, especially City and Chelsea who will both probably spend in that region on a CB this summer

Thanks for the rundown, Penny. Does sound a cunt. But he’s doing a good job there (albeit one leg suits them - and him too el oh el)

By Xpike Go To Post70m for koulibalyKoulibaly, even at 29, is probably worth that in the right squad and with the right tactics. Physically, he’s still unmatchable. His problems this season stemmed from the lack of a complimentary second CB and a desire to make up for the squad’s generally disjointed and lackluster play. He’s always made the big tackle or the long pass, but if that leaves him vulnerable positionally, he no longer has someone like Albiol who’s solid enough to be well placed for interference or clearance.
crazy
That said, I don’t think Ake is the right CB to pair him with, nor am I convinced that Pep would deploy them with the right tactics.

Ake is Laporte’s back up, so it’d be alongside the latter. I don’t watch him enough to know, but how’s his build up? Assuming good as he shone under Sarri.

I just have problems spelling, I am not berry good at English
By Pennywise Go To PostHe was injured for quite some time, but it still doesn't look that good.Yeah, the Alaba shift to CB seemed part Davies emergence and part he was just their best option. Which definitely isn't a good look for Hernandez.

He has age on his side, and even though he was expensive, prices for CBs are only going to increase. Interesting player to monitor for sure for a lot of us.

Remains to be seen how they'll deal with a hard nut like Bayern.
One thing he prolly does similar, he gives his star players alot of freedom. Dembele and Aubameyang got the long leash. Dembele for example was notoriously late and there were no repercussions.
Emre Mor on the other hand, had to crawl with his hands down on the ground.
Think that works incredible well for players like Neymar and Mbappe (allthough I got no idea how professional he is). However, that is something that won't sustain long term.
That's why Bayern were so cautious when they negotiated with him. They knew the stories from Dortmund. When they consultated Hummels, he basically said that he will most likely leave, if Tuchel joins the club.
He still left, but that wasn't due Kovac being a bitch.
i pray to allah this is true. while we still need a new left back, this could be the big fix our defense of shit cunts needs. now just for someone to take over bjelland the bellend.
By n8 dogg Go To PostAke is Laporte’s back up, so it’d be alongside the latter. I don’t watch him enough to know, but how’s his build up? Assuming good as he shone under Sarri.Under Sarri, he was impeccable. His vision is keen, his distribution was second probably only to Jorginho’s, and his athleticism allows him to move around on the pitch more than might be expected, especially when he could still always be relied upon to make the astonishing saving tackle if something went astray.
Judging anything after Sarri, though, is pointless in that regard. Carlo was trash, and Rino seems to be trying to figure out how to play like Sarri, but with a squad that no longer has cohesion or drive.

Club's been interested for a long time under Ole. Not sure if I like him much but I can see why we'd do it (cheapish depth).

Don't think Brooks would be that cheap. Has a few years left on his contract. Bournemouth just sold Ake for £40m so probably holding out for similar. Although, Brooks has made it clear that he has no interest in remaining with them.

Not seen him much, is young at 23, but is he better than what we currently have at the club or are there players in the Under teams that could come through and play his position just as an addition to the squad?

He is a really good back up for any of our attacking midfielders I think

He can play off the right and behind the striker. When we're trying to get rid of AP and Lingard the utility is fairly obvious.
Yep. I worry we have TOO many dogshit players to get rid of that our depth will be severely lacking. Hopefully some of the yoof step up.
He also has room to grow after being injured this year. Was one of those players at Bournemouth that would pop up with a performance that would really stand out. You'd have to think being around better players he could develop into something more. I could think of much worse players to be linked with.

Solid win by BSC just now. Two wins in two games since the restart. Got the Clásico against Emelec on Sunday a couple hours after the CL final. Sunday is going to be an amazing day of fútbol.
Miami Heat won their opening playoff game today as well. Love it when both my sports teams win the same day. What a day to be bone.
