It's not really that well defined a role, but usually the ones who's main job it is to buy and sell players. Ours just left for Aston Villa.

I love the 'we haven't been ready to win the Champions League' shit that comes from City mouthpieces.
There is no magical line that you cross to become a challenger, you've either got the necessary combination of quality and grinta in any given season or you haven't. Had 10 years to get it right, and the only time they've come close they put in an absolute disgrace of a performance against Madrid in the semi.

By Laboured Go To PostlulzAhh yes, such an amazing move by the board. They keep him around in case they need to shift blame and fire someone, pointing the blame away from themselves.
Chapeau.
I thought he got sacked. No matter, they're going to be midtable and outside of Europe regardless of who is in charge.
It's La Liga bruv
Could finish third with 60 points
Lukakus first goal last night was proper Noccerino stuff by the Shaktar defender

Is there no vote of no confidence system that Barca can use to get Bartomeu out before next March?
Presumably the only people who like him are those who he's massively overpromoted

By Xpike Go To PostSome Ghana news site posted that we've signed Parley on 4 yearsAlso need to sell some of our dead wood, I read the other day that Sokratis is off to Napoli.
Auba renewal seems already done
Gabriel seems to be coming to Arse
Now we just need Ceballos for the window to be complete

Ah I see Barca only want his right foot. Strange proposal but if that works for them.

Lol mate, as if 4 clubs are going to keep Barca out of the CL spots. They’ll probably at least make third place.

La Real and Villarreal are gonna be very interesting to follow next year, they been building a great squad.
Messi leaves and Barca is mid-table, easy.

Phil is generally on a full-on death rattle every single summer, so I take everything he says with a fairly high degree of scepticism. That said I can't seem to access the article and he's posted it twice now lol.

That said I can't seem to access the article and he's posted it twice now lol. Can't access it either, but I guess he mentions something about United not having the money to sign quality players, or at least needing to sell first before buying? He been going in about that for the last few days. I've no doubt we've been hit harder than some fans want to believe. But if we really don't recruit well this summer we're in far greater shit than anyone could have guessed.
It'll be about how we've drawn down £140m from a credit facility but how that has been mostly used up to offset the lack of liquidity from lack of matchday revenue..

Woodward signposted that himself a few months ago in an investors call I think. I'm not going to fly off the handle yet, but if it reaches September and no movement of any transfer in or out has been made then I'm pretty sure we'll all know exactly what's happened.
Joe Hart at the Spurs lodge this morning. 27.5k/w and bonuses isn't terrible, frees up an international player spot without Vorm, very much hope he's only being considered as third choice though

Well, this depends on if others strengthen too. As of now, only Chelsea have got the jump on us from a position behind us.

Fred and McTominay could deputise well for Matic, but they aren't creative players. Lose any our forwards or fullbacks and we're fucked.

Yes, but we finished third with them. Don’t imagine such a precipitous drop is nailed on with two months of the transfer window yet!
Congrats to Conte getting to a final. I am not his biggest fan, but there is no denying the power of the thesis.
Makes me feel more comfortable about Pirlo.

He still managed to pull 3rd out his ass and three semis - its mind-blowing to me the guy inst being backed.
If I were in his shoes, I'd be drafting my letter to the fans in preparation for the inevitable.
As I'm giving credit to managers, got to give it to Ole, too.
Thought he would have United around where we ended up. But he managed to stabilise things and showed what he could do when he had some strong additions to the squad. Still don't think he is good enough to take United to the next level, but they are a solid top 6 at worst with him with the potential for cup runs.

As I said yesterday, I like Pedro Gonçalves, not sure if it's a good deal, but it's most definitely the best signing we made so far.
Best thing in Ole’s favour has been the fact he has improved all our signings, and youth, and sone players Mou wanted out. He’s shown he can ve trusted with spending; and players he wanted but didn’t get have all turned up at Dortmund too, which looks good for him lol

Being serious tho, he's a good coach and young enough to improve. He isn't top tier like Pep, Klopp, etc., but that doesn't mean he can't get there with the right people around him and the right attitude. A part of me still thinks we might be better off being super ruthless and going for Pochettino, but of course that would fuck with a lot of goodwill. Our staff like him, our fans like him, and he's done what he will have been asked to do this year.
Boavista making some interesting moves. Bruno Alves, Javi Garcia and Ricardo Quaresma are all rumored to be on their way there.
