They’re sorely lacking a top striker.
United's bench is crap which is why they need to sign 3-4 players this window. Ole doesn't refuse to make subs because he doesn't know what he's doing, he doesn't make many subs because the bench is significantly worse than the starting 11.
God, everyone on that second goal is to blame. GK never fancies coming out for a punch. Neither CB have any fucking clue where the only aerial threat on the opposing team is. Only man in the box too. AWB... no words.
Overall a B season for United. Top 4 was the minimum and we achieved that. Three semi finals and three defeats is fucking shit tho.
We've seen big improvements to Martial and Rashford as players and the introduction of Greenwood who'll be a superstar in a few years. Tactics are basic and need major improvement if we're to challenge the top sides. But it's good enough for now. Need major investment for the starting 11 during the summer.

I think Lindelof is TEN times worse than AWB there. Absolutely no way he should be letting that ball past him without ironclad assurance it’s De Gea’s.
Is Lindelof really a better CB than Baily? Wan Bissaka also seemed to forget he was in the middle of the match completely for the 2nd goal
I feel like Barca losing 8-2 somehow makes every result from now on less embarrassing/painful
sure but it aint 8-2
sure but it aint 8-2
About time someone game Lindelof a bollocking btw. He's been shite too often this season. Maguire has his problems but he's been holding that central defence together this season.
Think Bailly attacks that cross tbh.
Also think AWB and Lindelof would've been more pro-active if they weren't basically running on fumes at this point.

Bailly is complements Maguire better but he’s so rash. Isn’t a complete pussy like Lindelof though.
By Marston Go To Post1 leg neutral > 2 leg home/away2 legs is terrible for several reasons and worst of them is the teams that decide to park the bus
Bailly would've risked an own goal to get to that ball. Lindeshit just steps away like it's not his problem a ball bouncing in the small box.

Our midfield needs an enforcer badly - motherfuckers just skating through.
Would have subbed Rashford off earlier and brought Jude on to hold the play up
We need to absolutely fuck off Carabao early doors next season. Really need to start rotating more too, as awful as our depth is. Just don’t do it all at one time... a Dalot here, a Lingard there.

This is why I'm annoyed at 3 semis: it's so much wasted energy for nothing.
Right, United Bros. What do we think happens this summer? Last time we finished top 4 we fucked the subsequent transfer window. I've zero faith that Woodward will get anything done, but that aside we at least should look at what is needed to bring us forward.
It's clear the starting 11 needs Sancho or at least a quality right sided player. Another quality centre back is a must. And a midfielder is necessary as well. The cm doesn't need to be one that usurps Pogba or Bruno, but one that is of higher quality than Lingard or Pereira etc. Someone who can start when our two creative options need a rest and we don't see a massive dip in creativity.

Messi is possible tho, believe me.

Eh, it’s been worth it this season I think. Lots of game time for Williams and Greenwood to play themselves into contention, and hopefully losing three, coming so close, gives them a bit of a taste. Touch of the early Pool Klopps.

we aren't going to spend/
As shit as our bench options are, not being able to integrate a single sub option into the team dynamic is a failure of the manager, plain and simple. You can't play 60 games with the same starting 11, and if you don't have a clue what to do to change games with who you have, it's on you.
Been saying for months now that the failure of giving minutes/roles would cost us. Played Shaw every game, and when it was time for Williams to step into the role again, it was like starting from scratch.

Nothing. Some value signings at most
Idk how you celebrate getting to 3 semis and losing all 3 of them.
Maybe if it was Everton but not Man United

I wonder where Messi ends up. I imagine City, PSG, and Inter are the front runners. I'd like to see him at Inter to compete directly with Ronaldo again or Man City to reunite with Pep and have a new challenge in the EPL.

This would actually be incredible. Who doesn’t want to see them play together at least once.
Do it, J.
By Daz Go To Postthat sounds like 250 millI'm under no illusions that we'll sign 200m worth of players this summer. But these are the areas we need reinforcements in the most. My preference would be to spunk it all on Sancho. He's a world class talent in waiting.

If that isn't possible then a Grealish type for cm and a good CB instead.

- RW starting (preferably Sancho) - this way Greenwood becomes actual quality depth off the bench for three or four positions
- another attacking option to take Mata/Lingard’s game time, because James can only play high lines when we’re winning with ten minutes left - I would fancy a move for Buendia, could probably get him for 20m
- Matic, Fred, McTom is probably fine for next season but that heavily relies on Bruno and Pogba staying fit, so one more body in there would be nice. No idea on names.
- Centre back to replace Lindelof because Bailly is never going to stay fit enough to solidify a place. Maybe Smalling would look quite good alongside Maguire, who knows.
Issue is, we’ll wait til October and spend all of our money on Sancho and not get anyone else.

Who is celebrating? I’m saying it’s decent progress. Would rather be in 3 semis and lose them all than not be in three semis. It’s a good indication of where we are because it shows consistency. Arsenal, for instance, win the FA Cup but come eighth, out in the last 32 of the EL. I have a better indication of where we are as a side than I do your club.

Need to get some competition in for AWB or start playing Wiliiams on that side. Might be harsh on AWB but he clearly needs to up his game on the ball and moving forward.
Not long till the season starts again. These players need some rest and Ole needs backing in the market.
