By Koko Go To PostLovely stuff Frustrated, but please consider upgrading your record player.see frustrated this is what happens when you go for chairs first
I admit the record player is only there for looks, I have a full fledged Sonos system in every room of the house + outdoor terase, the record player barely gets any spins, everything goes through the Sonos app.
Thank you all for the kind words, happy to see other lovers of design.

Nice stuff FM, I'll post some pics at some point, but realised from looking at your post that I don't have a single plant anymore, I just can't keep them alive so I stopped buying them.
Did look to maybe get something like this though..

I would like to point out that frustrated also has a fiddle fig I brought up in the home theater thread! Lol
Serious though, I love the kitchen. Specifically the different color island cabinets.

nice house Frustrated.
Don't give Frustrated too much credit. He supports "The Whites" so he is corrupted from the beginning.
Vancouver’s skyline and cityscape is becoming quite impressive. Trying to convince my girlfriend to move out there or Montreal sometime in the next two years. Toronto is becoming a little too pricey for what it is lol we aren’t NYC or London or San Francisco in cultural and societal influence yet our rent is creeping up to those places. The pandemic however has stalled prices a bit, so that’s good. We still pay around $2000 for a 550 sq ft, 1 BR apartment.
Found out the other day that a condo building designed by Kengo Kuma is opening in Vancouver next year. That dude is an insanely famous Japanese architect who among other things designed the new Japan National Stadium for the Tokyo Olympics. It’s available to see here: https://www.rew.ca/buildings/17176/alberni-by-kengo-kuma-vancouver-bc
It is pricey af but a crazy good investment. Prestige building but could only ever go up in value.

Naw, Canadian money. That’s around $1500 Trumps. We don’t make as much as Americans so adjusted for local wages it’s hella unaffordable.

She's from Montreal, so we've been looking there. Compared to London, it's wild how much cheaper it is.

My girlfriend has her family roots there and she loves the city and wants to move there since it’s not too far away from Toronto but way more affordable for a similar quality of life.
By Daz Go To PostLive around the French or Live around the Brits.London has other geezers as well tbf, Bold (I just make sure to stay away from you)
Just jump off a bridge.
Montreal was gorgeous though. That said, I'm just not built for the winters. Any city that needs underground tunnels to get between buildings ain't for my asian skin

I live in Montreal.
Guys, if you're not living here you're doing it wrong. Dead cheap (relative), beautiful women, incredible summers, tons of importance given to quality of life, best cafe/bar/resto's, bike paths everywhere, modern metro system, jobs galore, etc, etc. Booming artificial intelligence scene too.
You can get a luxury condo 1000 sq ft with a garage for about 500k. That's cheap af compared to Vancouver or even Toronto.
French isn't that hard to learn and compared to previous decades I find French people are more tolerant towards outsiders ( the concept of seperatism is all but dead).
There really is no other modern metropolitan city like it, given how affordable it is. But the prices are moving up, and they're moving fast.

Easily the worst thing about Canada is the weather. If we had San Francisco weather in Toronto/Montreal, shiet...
Vancouver weather is okay.

If we had San Francisco weather in Toronto/Montreal, shiet…If the above was true, I'm 100% sure the other world powers would have tried to envade us already by now. Canada would be too irresistible with SF/CA weather. I always saw the winter as being a filter in keeping the baddies away.
Vancouver weather is okay.
SF isn't even warm most of the time of the year lol, especially after it gets that afternoon breeze and mist coming in from the Pacific.
San Diego type weather though :phew

Barely have that in the UK either way innit
Since we’re in an interior design thread and the topic of climate has come up, I will say that I very much hate people that decorate to the climate. Like your cabin in the woods doesn’t need to be all pine and your beach house does t need to have sea star lamps and boat oars hanging on the walls
I hear ya, although I tried to think about the climate ie use a lot of re-used wood from shops so that my environmental footprint was lower (and furniture lasts longer) but that is different to what you are saying I guess.

I should be more specific, because bringing in colors and styles of the area are different than vomiting tchotchkes around l😂
