Try googling "modern rustic small" or something similar to get something that is closer to your aesthetic without also looking supremely dated and trash.
If you want that just look for craftsman, mission, and if you got a regional place that does imports in Amish made stuff, you can commission some custom made stuff. I actually prefer warm woods over sterile white, black, gray, metallic aesthetic. Keep in mind real good solid wood stuff is not cheap but it does last and it might be a bit big for the space you're occupying. It really only works in larger rooms and homes, apartments not so much.

Rugs are what you really want, carpets are a different thing and usually are cheap to quickly cover bad flooring.
I moved out of my condo (pictured below) and into my first home. I loved (and still do) my condo but I think I grew out of it and needed a bigger project. I wanted a yard and garden and all that Jazz, I wanted no neighbours and a fully detached home. Mostly though, I wanted more natural sun, my condo is facing east while my house faces the west with windows on every side. One thing I wanted to change up from the condo to the house is to ditch the "edgy modern" look with a lot of glass, to more earhy grounded look. I really dig the mid-century home look, it's timeless really.

Before the chair had arrived, the living room looked like this - I love simple, minimilast and 50's vibes. Note the Barcelona chair, it doesn't really fir the look and feel of my house (ported from the condo) but I think it works. Rug imported from Turkey.
Here is the view of behind the main Sofa (from Article.com) - I have a media unit with a record player and some of my books I read. Birds of Paradise plant + records on the bottom
My condo was the bomb, I loved how airy it felt and everything had purpose but man it lacked natural sunlight
So many good memories here, tons of parties and gatherings
Back to the house, my new dining table (also from Article.com). Rug imported from Iran.
New Kitchen at the new house is 2 tone, grey and white - appliances mostly Miele, range is propane/electric with 4 burners

One thing that I adapted to very well is not having the kitchen + living room together in the house. My condo is an open concept unit, which is fine and serves its purpose in a condo, where space is tight. However, in a home, I quickly adapted to having my living room be in one wing of the house and the kitchen being on the opposite. It creates well established spaces and defines purpose much better than open concept design. The living room and the kitchen are much better served being seperated.
My favorite space is the living room during sunset, the sun rays hitting, the birds chirping and complete quiteness... Throw in some wine and Amy Winehouse, or some Aretha Franklin and it's golden.
