By Yurtlicious Go To Postquestion about TLOU 1 and a side character that gets introduced very early on am I supposed to know Abby or what was done to her/them?Nope.
ngl I would never throw a perfectly good joint for a kiss like that, especially considering the circumstances.

By /sy Go To PostSpoilers for the first 2 hours
Man that was fucking rough. Was I tripping or was their brains on the golf club? 😳😳😳
lol idk it wouldn't surprise me
By Laboured Go To PostI gotta say I'm pretty impressed with the way her voice saying Joel blends into the scream.
Lol you can do the same with Abby when she's introduced. Felt less bad about throwing her off a cliff over and over in retrospect
By Zabojnik Go To PostThey sure went crazy on the film grain.Yeah, I wish I could adjust it. You could in UC4 so I'm surprised it's not in the ocean of settings they included.
I was skeptical about the semi-open world but this is brilliant, it all feels very natural and I quite like how you progress from one area to another. You don't feel restricted that much during encounters either
this is great and everything but I hope it doesn't overstay its welcome I've got some rpgs to finish lmao

The violence, at least during gameplay, isn’t getting to me like I thought it would. Ellie feels a lot better to control than Joel did. So far the gameplay feels like a nice step up from Part 1.
video games still can't do realistic looking photographs lmao

the gameplay so far is what you'd expect; doesn't set the world on fire, but it feels and plays well.
i'm an hour or two in, at the bit where joel gets shot in the leg. fucking hell, that was brutal.

not sure what PC devs are doing all this time sitting on superior hardware and doing fuck all with it
it helps that nd got sony with an infinite paycheck for their mostly linear games, while other devs gotta listen to what their publisher demands for the wide market

bud my only tip for you is to not go straight to the objective, explore. You know you cleaned up the whole area once you get a trophy for it
at the beginning at least
also save up some upgrade pills for the third talent tree, it's ridiculous.

yeah it' far better implemented in a game like this vs Uncharted.
On Survivor I'm pretty much forced to explore since I'm completely out of ammo after an encounter.
Makes me hope ND does a Game of Thrones esque game with these semi-open sized levels.

By Freewheelin Go To PostAren't cutscene and in-game models the same thing now, aka real time?technically the same character models but in 99% of games, the gameplay model has the sweet stuff like SSS and better self shadowing disabled and some assets have a lower LOD. Take for example, Uncharted 4's Drake. Technically he has the same model in and out of cutscenes but the gameplay model has SSS and other stuff turned off. So you'll somtimes get it to look like this, typically under pretty flat lighting:
either way, looks unbelievable
But most of the time, when the lighting is more direct( like outside under the sun)you're getting something like this:
These TLOU II models seem to have everything turned on all the time. SSS, best skin shaders, skin folding, etc.

Yea been playing since early afternoon and just hopped off.
+ Story is very engrossing. I’m compelled to keep playing.
- Gameplay is... not particularly good. I’m playing on hard, and the amount of times I’ve been literally pre-fired around corners is embarrassing. Stealth feels like a chore. Number of enemies in general has been tiresome to deal with. I don’t see any real improvements from the original in terms of mechanics so far. Difficulty balance feels weird on hard. Scarce resources, can take moderate amount of damage in fights, but health bar nearly full even after taking lots of damage? Open world feels very last gen design wise.
Mostly feels like they wanted to tell a good story far more than they wanted to make a great game. Enjoying it, but almost feel like I just want to watch a let’s play on YouTube.
Dang, don't think I could disagree more with you on the gameplay phaze. This is a big improvement over the first game(which I'd give a 7/10) in terms of gameplay, AI, mechanics, design etc.
It really shines when against human opponents, infected(so far) are aight.

I got the TLOU2 LE Pro bundle, and the system isn't that loud for me. Much better than the unit I sold.
I'm a few hours in. The presentation is amazing. I'm playing this on my OLED and in HDR. It can look a little soft at times, I'm guessing that's because of the game outputting at 1440p, but other than that it looks incredible.
I'd be very interested in seeing the type of fukkery ND has pulled off behind the scenes.

Dark Phaze I'm on Hard too, I always have enough bullets since I treat my guns like a last resort type of thing if I'm caught AND melee is not feasible. And I make them count, I don't waste more than two per target before getting closer to hack them down.

Nah, I went with survivor.
I hope there's at least one more map as big as seattle day 1. I love the restraint ND showed by not having way points and a minimap. It's well designed enough that I'm barely actually looking at the physical map too.

You can change difficulty at any time yurt. You can even set the difficulty of individual elements(Players, stealth, supplies, enemies).
This game would be a lot more fun if they cut infected entirely. They weren’t all that fun in the first game and they aren’t interesting here either. Human combat is where it’s at.

I have a horrible feeling that it'll make me kill Joel as Abby. Just gone back to using Ellie with Dina and scouted the town
Is there a way to disable repeated tutorials? I don't need to know the prone controls every time.
First combat encounter was tense as fuck even though it's easing you in.

You can trigger cinematic kills like at the end of the E3 2018 demo if you injure but don't kill an enemy :o
pls don't try to be 100% stealthy 100% of the time, gotta go big, it's so much fun.

Gonna switch it up and do this tomorrow. For the most part I've been sneaky. Ellie out here like Snake.
