Was gonna play with headphones anyway since I don't plan on using listen mode and I don't have surround. Very odd that they won't let players disable listen mode this time around, I know it's optional anyway but it somehow felt good in the first one to get rid of the option altogether. Can see myself being tempted to use it once, then using it all the time and ending the game feeling like I'd have found it more satisfying if I'd never used it.
Maybe there are options for how much detail you get from it. In the first game you could see exactly where the enemies were, what they were holding, and what way they were facing.

What difficulty are you starting on? I think I"ll go with hard and step it up to Survivor if it's not too hard. Everyone seems to agree that normal is too easy.

Grounded was too hard for me in the first game, but on Hard I never properly ran out of ammo since all the guns were viable and I stealth-killed/beat the shit out of the vast majority of the enemies.

I had seen the OG leaks with the golf club Fatality but that footage did not include Abby blowing Joel's leg off with a shot gun hooooooly fuck.
Can we talk about how well done the dialogue and cutscne direction is? That scene when Abby's group hears Joel's name? Jeeeeeeeeeeeeez
Those Abby Resident Evil sections and set pieces were great too. Already better than RE3

This game makes Horizon Forbidden West a lot less impressive.
Like, I knew the character models and animations were going to be a tier above RDR2 but I didn't think I could be this much more impressed by a games visuals this gen. This shit is impeccable.

Got up to Seattle Day 1. I stupidly clicked on the spoiler thread here and lo and behold got spoilers. So I knew Joel was gonna eat it but didn't realize it was gonna be so early in the game. As soon as he rescued Abby I knew it was coming and was screaming internally for him to let the zombies eat her. I like playing as Abby, I'm assuming you'll play more of her. But still, fuck her

I'm playing Part II on Survivor and they still give you a shit ton of ammo and weapons if you're thorough in your scavenging.
