By Cleff Go To PostYesterday's game finished off the careers of Mata and Lingard at United. We may be stuck with them as they're on big wages, but they'll never start big games unless there's an injury crisis. Mata doesn't gave the athleticism to play to play in a team that specialises in counterattacking football. Lingard does, but has seemingly forgot how to play football. Can't pass, dribble or shoot.A West Ham or Mou will take Lingard off your hands.
I know Pepe gets a lot of shit but his delivery from corners has been pretty decent this year so why is Wilock on corners?
Oh lol penalty.

He scored a Robben last weekend.

This break really did a number on Sheffield. They are a shadow of their former self. None of the intensity they use to have. They feel exactly like a championship side.

Crowd isn't there to give them a push which I think makes a huge diff to the intensity.
Pepe slander is hilarious, people definitely only watch clips of him. His numbers arnt that bad given the issues we have at RB, where we are as a club and his first season in the EPL. He'll hit 10 goals 10 assist this season easy imo.
I think Pepe's a different player to what I was expecting. A nice striker of the ball but I'm not sure his ability to take players on is as good as I was expecting.
By Laboured Go To PostAssume this is partially why the likes of Lingard and Mata were playing yesterday.
Fine by me. Get (at least) one of Jones/Smalling, Rojo, Sanchez, Lingard and Mata off the wage list and that's probably conservatively 600k off the weekly wages (probably way more - Sanchez is supposed to be on 300-400 or something, right? I'm just putting him on 200k and everyone else on 100 because I don't want to believe otherwise...)
Think Sancho should absolutely be our prime target next season:
- if Axel comes back fine, I'm really happy with our CB options; same with our FBs provided Williams, Laird etc. continue to develop
- if Pogba stays (and stays fit), we have five options for three places in the centre. Could do with a Matic replacement long-term, but maybe that's Garner
What we absolutely need is for Sancho to come in so Greenwood can get more game time up top. Would absolutely not be averse to us bringing someone in like Ighalo again for cover up front. And, again, I'd hope we can give Gomes a contract and keep him around. Would be cheaper (in transfer fees and wages) than someone like Grealish or Maddison by a long way. If we could get Grealish for 40m/50m or so on top of Sancho, given the amount we'll save in wages I'll be fine with that, but I do think Woodward is going to be incredibly concerned about the optics of spending such money post-Covid.

Think he’s been alright today. I’ve also only seen Arsenal once live in my life and he was by far the best player on the pitch #anecdote
