Abraham def isn’t it but Is Werner really the answer? Seems like a solid poacher but Chelsea need an all around striker
Damn I forgot we signed Ziyech months ago too
Attack gonna be lit will lose all matches 5-4
Fat Frank is keen on Chilwell. Would imagine that will get done too.

Werner + Ziyech for £80/90m is great business. Think Werner is already world class. When Liverpool have missed out on transfers recently* I think "there's a footballing reason we're passing on this signing" but I can't see it with this one.
*ofc we're winning CL and PL in back to back seasons so it's worked out so far.
We're fucked when AFCON comes.

You don't want to pay the release clause and Chelsea don't mind. That's about all there is to it is my guess. Being guaranteed #1 at Chelsea doesn't hurt either.
Yeah I'd been reading Liverpool have been financially squeezed. Odd given they didn't spend much last summer either and sold poor players for inflated prices.
Coutinho money must've run out.

their budget probably took into account the packed stadiums to celebrate the league
and not getting out of CL in the first knock out

Maybe it's because we're not getting more money for our fringe players this summer like Wilson and Grujic or it is that wage bill. Just posted a good result even without the Couts money though. Oh well, if Chelsea can sort out their defense they will be dangerous next season.

It’s hard to fault our transfer business over the last few years, it feels like we’ve pulled off come incredible moves to get us where we are.
£7m gross spend in 4 transfer windows on first team players though? Feels like an incredibly unnecessary risk

It's odd
I'm swinging from 'we already have 3 brilliant players for 3 positions, that's a lot of money for an option' to 'what if one of them gets a bad injury, and the AFCoN is back to Januarys'
Can't imagine Klopp is thrilled to have Minamino, Origi, Shaqiri and Jones as the cover for those attacking positions. The gap between them and the starters is too wide. We've gotten away with it, and even benefited strangely in that Barcelona game, but I'm not sure it's viable in the long term.

Chelsea got the look of a very solid attack. Gotta sort out Kante/Jorginho issues tho; former has been injured for a year and latter looks like he might be leaving.
By Laboured Go To PostI just wouldn't want any part of that Chelsea defence bar Kante.
James is still 20, Tomori is very promising. I like Rudiger too. Wonder if they also have the money for Chilwell.
Gutted we aren't getting Werner. Hoping we do spend some money soon though. Been penny pinching for nearly two years now.
remember when liverpool did a 4-0 against barcelona in a cl semi final with salah and firhmihno out
theyll be alright
theyll be alright
Easy to forget that Chelsea do have a very wealthy owner and will always be able to find cash if they need it. They can afford to gamble that revenues recover quickly and look to shore up their CL position for next season.
You'd think FFP would be a risk if they don't recover, although some random club will suddenly offer 100m for Willian or some shit based on their recent history.
You'd imagine the cash would be available for Liverpool if they really wanted, but their current team strength means there is no need to take the risk. The interesting thing will be whether Liverpool end up making any transfer moves, or if this is a harbinger of another restricted summer.

By Plasma Go To PostWell at least that means Chelsea won't be signing Aubameyang from us.
Rumour mill is he has signed as well as saka.
Realistically we arn't going to see wholesale changes with arsenal and tbh I've never been a fan (never forget when Jaun Ramos bought 8 first team players in one window lol) but clearly we're going to have to shift before we can even think of buying.
But if we can shift; Laca, AMN, Luiz, Sokra, Mustafi and Torreria I'd like to think there's 70ish mill there that I'd hope would be made available for transfers.
Think CDM and RB and find a modern ozil replacement. We'd have to be creative but could be done imo.
Saka is a player is love Liverpool to go after, bosman next year.
Was crap on Football Manager Switch though.

Wow, Werner huh? That's a big surprise to me. Hope it goes through for you Chelsea bros. Think you still need to bolster your CBs and get in a creative CM tho. Team is looking good.
Mason will outscore him next season

Hey, look. It's starting 11, haven't seen one of those in a while.
2 youngsters making their debut in the first team and as starters.
Amorim continues with a 3 back formation with the young Eduardo Quaresma in the company of the veterans Mathieu and Coates. Matheus Nunes is the other new face, replacing the injured Wendel.
Excited for this.
