By sohois Go To PostThis is a false comparison though, since it takes no account of the money that Chelsea spent to acquire those loanees and their various wages and development costs over the yearsAgent fees, taxes and so on.

I may not know much, but don't think that's how transfer fees actually work?
While this is is obviously better than if there was no income, I think it isn't as simple as topping up these child sales with a fiver.
Tho I understand how it's useful to keep track of this stuff, so I guess my point is there should be greater transparency with all these contracts.

IIRC we still made a profit on all that, a lot of those players were youth signings or came in through the system. Pasalic for example was bought for 3m and never even trained with the senior squad.

I'd be surprised if most loanees had all their wages covered
By sohois Go To PostChelsea are a champions league team, and united are not.
Chelsea have won the PL recently, and united have not
Chelsea have shown that they can consistently weather upheaval and still win, while united have completely failed in that.
I would be shocked if a player chose United over Chelsea given similar wage offers, I reckon United would need to offer significantly more money to get players to come in such a situation.

next season's CL is still in the balance. its likely that we get in either via the league or Europa
plus we're just better than them as we've proven this season H2H with more upside yet to come

Havertz all but confirmed to Chelsea now.
Sounds obvious but we really need CL football next season. Would make us so much more attractive to players and also give us a revenue boost to sign them.

The Bellingham info is new I think. Other outlets have Dortmund as favourites to sign him.

Sources have told ESPN that United are front-runners to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho and are also leading the pack in the race for 16-year-old Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham.

By Laboured Go To PostI mean, I'd probably save on celebrations until we find out who is / isn't getting CL.Us for sure.
We'll win Europa this year, Champions Legaue and the Euros next year and the World Cup the year after.
By Cleff Go To PostForgot we could still qualify for the CL by winning the EL. Or finishing 5th.We'll do both and be drawn into 2 groups. United v United CL Final

I'm trying to muster hype for Juve - Milan, but ... I got nothing.
I know I'm going to get sucked into the machine as soon as the whistle blows on Friday, but at the moment ... just let football die, please.
