Related, Yankees lead the majors in getting thrown out on the base paths (not force outs) and also in grounding into double plays. Between that and the bottom half of the order batting below the Mendoza line, it's a wonder they can't score.

Fuck. Gerrit Cole to get Tommy John.
Cole gave up 5 through 5, and then Boone put in the bullpen's B team which gave up another 4 in the top of the 7th.

Give credit to Syphon, chump.
Let's also give credit to Aaron Boone tonight.
Jameson Taillon came into tonight's game with a 5.10 ERA, but he successfully went 5 innings with no runs. Aaron Boone trotted him out there for the sixth, the third time through the order, and he gave up 2 before being yanked and then another 1 was charged to him on a subsequent hit.
Good job recognizing your pitchers' limits, Boone. Nailed it.
And hell, it might not even be Boone making the calls, it could be those fuckwits in the analytics department. How can you even tell these days. But Boone is the manager, so this fucking bullshit is his fault regardless.

Chad Green fucked up the eighth, no denying it. He had been doing well this year and the past couple, so I guess it was his time to be useless and to give up 4.
7-3 Red Sox into the top of the ninth. Since the Yankees can't hit for shit, this series is certainly 2-0 Red Sox leading into the finale tomorrow.

You could say pitch 1, that should have been a strike based on this chart. And yeah, I can take that. But pitch fucking 7, holy shit. Get the fuck out of here.
Speaking of get the fuck out of here, 2 Yankees coaches ended up tossed after that shit (not Boone).

And just like that, the Red Sox sweep the Yankees. If I don't wake up to multiple firings and Syphon being DFA'd, there will be consequences and repercussions.
Yankees are losing (of course), but damn, Michael Pineda for the Twins is out there looking like CC Sebathia. In girth.
Jesus, the last time I saw that dude, he was a scrawny stick figure with pine tar on his neck. What the hell is on the menu in Minnesota, rodeo?

Yankees came back and got the win over the Twins. Because of course, they own the Twins. (Doesn't hurt that the Twins are shit this year. But then again, the Yankees were also recently swept by the shit Tigers.)
Who knows, maybe they can keep it up for the next game or two.

Dude only blew one save coming into this game, and ended up winning that game anyway, and came in with a 0.39 ERA.
I was behind on my feed, having to do some work tonight so I had to pause MLB.tv to deal with it. So when I saw this thread marked with a new post, I avoided it until I could watch through to the end. I had hoped it was Syphon talking shit about getting it right. I never expected it would be Syphon talking shit about getting it wrong. Syphon prematurely talking shit and then getting it wrong, yes. This, no.
Good comeback tonight for the Yankees. I'd like to think these fuckers might realize some of them are about to be fired and/or traded.
I'll check back in after the Yankees lose the next 2.

I don't know if I've ever seen in my life a ground ball roll an inch in front of the plate and the runner get tagged out by the catcher, but that shit just* happened to PB's boy Vlady.
(*Probably 30 minutes ago, but I had to hit pause on the live feed to answer a work email. Catching up.)

2 wins over the Blue Jays, series is won. Thanks to Syphon for not posting, thanks to Boone for not managing, and thanks to Cashman for doing fuck all.

Jetlag theory worked out, but barely.
Yankees came back from down 4-1 to take the lead 7-4 in the 8th and held on to win 7-5. Watched the 4-1 deficit happen on TV, listened to the comeback in the car.
A's slaent (...crickets...), cool. Syphon slaent, don't post. Game 3 tomorrow afternoon.

Chapman couldn't throw strikes in the 9th, walked the first 2 batters on 9 pitches. After another ball on the first pitch to the third batter, he got a grounder to third that turned into a triple play.
This is the second time a triple play has saved Chapman. and the third triple play the Yankees have gotten this year (the middle one was not typical, just bad base running recently by the Blue Jays that got the Yankees out of a first inning jam).

New York also turned the first 1-3-6-2-5-6 triple play in major league history on Thursday at Buffalo, New York, against the Toronto Blue Jays and also had an around-the-horn triple play on May 21 against the Chicago White Sox involving Urshela, second baseman Rougned Odor and first baseman Luke Voit. The storied franchise had never turned more than one triple play in a season and tied a major league record for most in a season, a record shared by 11 other teams and last accomplished by the 2016 White Sox.
It's the first game-ending triple play since 2009, when the Philadelphia Phillies turned one against the New York Mets in an Aug. 23 contest, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
The Yankees' triple plays have happened over 31 days, the shortest span ever for three by a big league team.

Loaisiga gave up 4 in the 8th and blew the game (from a 3-2 lead to a 6-3 deficit). Yankees got a couple of runs back in the bottom half, but it wasn't enough.
I need to know why the Yankees didn't pitch Britton in the 8th. He didn't pitch Sunday, they had an off day yesterday, and they didn't pitch him again tonight. In fact, he hasn't pitched since last Thursday. Why? Is he hurt again? Just let me know. Maybe they said something in tonight's broadcast, but I was pausing and fast forwarding through some dead space between pitches as I was catching up on other things.
