Hard mode / Chapters select is the best way to grind. Its 3x EXP and 2x AP.
Hopping into the coliseum is a good way to grind out too.

Combat and GREAT boss fights...the cherry on top was the larger than life characters, sensational music and the occasionally breathtaking levels. I was never here for the story but by the end I was seriously hooked! The last two chapters and the epilogue were just INSANE

So are there builds where people use cloud and tifa as Magic attackers cause tbat seems counterintuitive intuitive with the way they charge atb. Yet half their weapons are for magic attacking

Cloud is just Cloud no matter what imo. You're still playing counter games with him, you just add magic at the end.
I kinda had to make Cloud a hybrid since I was always running around with Elemental materia equipped.
