I was just about to edit my post about it lol. We need to restructure our youth system again. We've had phenomenal success but we should try to bring the second team up to 3. Liga and work more on development. I'd say that we've hit a sort of drought recently and I think we can do better. I'm all about home-grown players.

you're late m8. From next season on, the reserves are not longer trying to get promotion, they will be our new U21 team with very few players of more age. The most talented ones will go directly on loan to 2.Bundesliga/Bundesliga.
Amazing meltdowns from a fanbase that just won the League and competed in two semi-finals.
I have not seen things like this in a very long time.

By Sal Go To PostAs if Chelsea weren't going to fling Kenedy to Belgium anyway. He's 19. The likelihood that he would be granted a work permit is less than zero. He'll go out on loan for a year or two at either Vitesse and Besiktas and then be reassessed. This is what everyone who is investing in young foreigners should be doing.
By hixx33 Go To Postalso last two weeks have been great for electronic musicWow was just asking a friend if there was new Chem Bros coming out. I'm very happy now
new Disclosure (Bang That) and the new Chemical Brothers (Go) is, as Gus Poyet would say, INCREYABLE
I am late. Damn. I try to follow our youth, but I don't have any reasonable methods to check like I do with the senior team. Sounds good to me though, I have no complaints about those methods overall. The talented players need time and competition to get ready for the senior levels, up till now they've needed more.
Still, I don't expect many breakthroughs at the moment even from the players that have made the senior team. We should probably start using Hojbjerg more I'd imagine, probably keep working with Weiser, Gaudino will stick to his squad rotation role, Kurt won't play much, etc.
With Weiser maybe staying, we'll probably not need to pick up a RB, since we'll obviously keep Rafinha under Pep. I hate them both though, terrible attitudes. At least Weiser has potential to improve on that front. I think with Pep staying, the best situation for us squad-wise would be to work Alaba as a midfielder most games and make Bernat the primary LB. We've already got 3 really solid central defenders and then Javi I guess. Hojbjerg and Alaba make up for some aging players in the midfield that way.
Who do you think we should go for on transfers? At the moment, I'd say our biggest issue is the wings and maybe a creative midfield addition. My favorite options are Griezmann and De Bruyne, but I could settle for players like Rafinha Alcantara and Brahimi. Also need a supplemental striker, not sure if the younger players can provide enough there.

I only know a bit about Sansone, do you really think he'd be good enough as a supplement to Lewa? He'd be cheap but I have a hard time thinking it is a worthwhile signing, I also doubt it happening at this point.
Edit: Dumb question. I think we should move on, more than likely better off this way.

The numbers involved in Dybala's move to Juve keep getting higher and higher. First it was 25M€ + bonuses, now it's close to 40M€ with all bonuses included. That's a huge gamble we're taking here. Although I suppose now is as good a time as there'll ever be for it. I just ... don't trust Wooden. That's what it comes down to.

He's probably in need of some kind of corset. For spinal and aesthetic reasons. Lord help him if our new kit is as painted-on as the Spurs one.
Gundo should do a one-man rewind to the baggy shirt era.
By Yurt Go To Postdidn't he send the whole team some pep talk messages after losing the CL final? CAPITANO MULLERRRR
He did indeed. Proof enough that he has the makings of a captain. So does Neuer, of course.
By Probity Go To PostIt's pathetic really. Müller isn't all that complicated to put in the team. You stuff him on the right side and give him the freedom to roam, and then he scores or gets assists. Müller isn't typical in his abilities but he has a sort of understanding of the game that you just don't see often. My absolute favorite player.
Well, I think Müller is a difficult player to appreciate initially. He always has to convince his managers that he should play, because other players in team are often more technically gifted, but don't bring results like Müller. His positioning is much better. I actually think his best position is behind the striker, not on the right flank. Though he does the latter job very well.
By Elchele Go To PostHe's holding us back. There's no point in keeping him, he made the team regress, he's also making key players uncomfortable and we risk losing players like Schweinsteiger, Mueller, etc because of him.
He ruined our squad planning, and there's no way he can win a CL trophy without Messi.
It's basically the LvG second season situation all over again. The soon he's gone, the better. Otherwise he will continue to destroy our team more and more, and it will be harder to rebuild it again
I would not go that far. Comparing him to impotent LvG season 2 is a bit harsh. Though he does share LvG's approach of fitting players into his system instead of finding a system best for his players.
Actually, I think that's the difference between Mou and Pep. I do think Pep makes players better and can improve a whole team tactically and individually (Bayern examples are Boateng, Alaba, even Robben). On the other hand, I think Mou is the best at using the players he has most effectively. He doesn't really improve them or bring in young players, but he will make sure everyone on the pitch is used to the best of their abilities. I wonder what position he'd give Müller.
EDIT: Tonight I want to see a curious new formation, with a German flank and a Spanish side.
Neuer
Lahm-Benatia-Boateng-Bernat(Rafinha)
Martinez/Rode - Alonso/Schweinsteiger
Müller - Götze - Thiago
Lewandowski
By Probity Go To PostEveryone really does hate Bayern.
I'll never understand.
if it helps, i want bayern to win (however unlikely that may be at this point)
barca winning la liga and the CL later would be unbearable, i'd have to stay off football communities on the net for months until the 12 year old barca fans stop posting
If Bayern score really early. And I mean within the first 15minutes, then this tie may get extremely complicated. Bayern overturning this result would be exciting for the neutral indeed. We need to make sure to score the first goal, it is as simple as that.
By Probity Go To PostEveryone really does hate Bayern.

I want to see them crushed. Pep is a fraud and killing the sport. The sooner we get rid of him, the better. Even for Bayern.
I like Danny Ings and hope he has a nice career with us, but I also hope to god that he and Origi aren't the only two attackers coming in this summer.
a sensational visceral attack in the Tom Brady suspension thread
By Lego Go To PostWhen Juventus cheated, they took their titles from them.
Ings and Origi would theoretically free up a lot of money to be spent on the striker we really, really want, as well as being (probable) upgrades on those they'd replace.
Fucking go for it if that's the plan. If they're the additions, next season is dead on arrival and everyone would know it.

Higuain (unrealistic)
Vietto
Dzeko (?)
Walcott (though I wouldn't want him as striker at all)
Assume those first 2 will have better options if they even want to leave, unfortunately.
Heard Kovacic has been pretty underwhelming this season, but most players do at Inter right now, Fits the Coutinho model I guess :P
Guessing Pjanic has fallen apart if we're going for Kovacic. Actually, Pjanic has probably fallen apart regardless. Haven't heard a peep about him since Rodgers got back from Rome.

Depending on the Man U result I'm willing to put ydays performance down as a bad day in the office. Second half was much better, Pele Pls give walcot a season at least before passing judgement, the guy hasn't played properly for a YEAR, he's not a striker but I think he'll be ok.
