Star Wars-SL&ENT, I need some assistance. Despite the fact that I have no real interest in the new, upcoming movies, the recent trailer has somehow burrowed its way into the weaker recesses of my brain and found some forgotten nodule of nostalgia to infest. I don't want to rewatch any of the films, not even the ones I don't think are indubitably shit, and my only experiences with the EU are the Shadows of the Empire novel (my 10-year-old self thought it was awesome, but my adult sensibilities realize it's barely better than fan fiction) and approximately a half-dozen videogames, of which KOTOR 2 is the only one I'd possibly consider well written (the first KOTOR has its moments, I suppose). With this in mind, how foolish would I be to try Zahn's Thrawn trilogy?
I really liked the Thrawn trilogy, but I was probably about 12 when I read it. So I have no idea if they were legitimately readable or just good because they were new Star Wars.
