Damn just watching the replay now. Monocoque and Halo did their job. Dude was in the fire for over 30sec
Technology went a long way lads
30 fucking seconds on a ball of fire, only minor burns on his hands
Incredibly lucky.

Dat butchering of Grosjean’s name
They literally have the commentary from the race playing where they pronounce his name correctly

nr 96 has to wait a little
I asume that reserve/test drivers have contracts, so I'm afraid it will be Stoffel. Would have been nice to see George, benchmark, or Hulk, finaly a podium, in there.
And in other news, Russian money buys a seat at Haas.

As much as I’m sure George Russell would love to jump in the W11 for a race, I don’t know why Williams would agree to release him. Unlikely but they could still overtake Haas I think if they manage to score some points

Cus Williams are Toto's bitch.
Is Mazepin as bad as I expect? Don't watch alot of F2 but his results this season have seem... OK. Probably many much more deserving.
By KP Go To PostCus Williams are Toto's bitch.Always hard to judge F2, as there is still difference, even though not that big as F1, between teams, so lets say he's Latifi level, not going to set F1 world in flames, but does know how to drive a car.

Don't rate this years F2 group that much, Swarzman looked promising early on, but fell away (normally other way around for a rookie), Iliot pace, but to many mistakes and baby Schumi most constant, but lacks ultimate pace. So I don't think anyone of them deserves to be in F1 based on this years performances.
Russell not only causes problems elsewhere within F1, but it also causes Wolff a headache if he gets in the car and performs as well as we all expect... As much as we want to see it, it is the last thing that Wolff will need.

True. Although if anyone out performs Bottas it's going to give him a headache.
By KP Go To PostRussell in the Merc and Aiken in the Williams would be W.I.L.D
Lol damn this actually happened.
Don't think it will be easy for George to step into a completely different car but must be hoping for a high points finish
I still don’t understand why they’ve let him go for this weekend and possibly next as well
Maybe Mercedes gave them a free PU or something

Busy morning.
Two drivers make their f1 debut this weekend. One driver makes a huge step up temporarily. Two new drivers including the son of Michael make their debut next season. And grosjean has been discharged from hospital.

Great by Williams, did not expect them to play ball, but sweetener must have been worth it. Knows the team from testing for them, should help him a little and great for Merc to benchmark him over a whole weekend. Than decide if you want him next to Lewis or if Lewis stops he is your guy to lead the team (or look outside). It is not the hardest track to step in to and it is new for everyone.
Jack looked more promising last year, had a dreadful F2 season, bit has a good chance to show if that was really an off season (bad team).
Baby Schumi has been ok, nothing more in his Jr career. Good enough to deserve that chance, but cannot see him become more than a midfield driver,

According to a thread on F1 subreddit, apparently Mazepin has problematic behavioral issues.
Mazepin's the polar opposite to Lance Stroll, when you think of it. Both of them are there because of daddy's money, but they couldn't have more different attitudes about it.

We are gonna race on the (n)Oval this weekend, so low downforce, lot of traffic (short lap) and slipstreaming, so Q sessions will be cluster #@##. Curious if George can get withing few tenths of Valteri and pick up his first podium and if either Jack or Pietro can kick start their F1 careers, they need it.

Seat fitting for George. His mask can barely contain his smile, from ear to ear. Can't wait for quali and race day.
Toto saying both cars same engine mode and fuel etc. Does say Bottas had an issue with the car though. Damage control
No damage control, just FP1 were Bottas did have a messy 2nd run, Q3 is were it gets interesting, but having said that #gogeorge
Most interesting part of that session was the bumpiness of S2, which will no doubt have an influence on the rideheight of the cars and teams that can handle that better can look better this weekend.

BabySchumi is ready for f1 rofl
Lucky for him Iliott can also not improve due to red flag (p9), but Tsunoda needed pole to have a chance and got it. Expect Schumi to start last due to penalties, so still chance for Callum.

FP2
Similar to FP1, Valteri kept up messing up quick laps on the reds (fastest was on hards), George just behind him on single lap, bit further on long runs like FP1 ( reds long run lot of traffic). RBRs were complaining about understeer on quick laps, but were a lot faster on long runs than Mercs specially Max. Interestingly they got rid of a set of mediums today were Mercs used the hards, so similar to last week (RBR extra set hards for race).
Midfield shoot me, far to close but Renault looked good, RP keeps up form, McLaren were struggling with little and bigger issues and Ferrari had horrible day (drive shaft broken Charles and Spinning Seb destroying tires).
Pierre with a Romain, no not that one

My chips are on Russell.
Yuki now has enough points for a super license. This will likely mean that he replaces Kvyat at Alpha Tauri.

FP3
Bottas lost 3 tenths last corner, Max traffic turn 1, so about equal with Merc normally finding a bit more in to Q session, so should be a Valteri pole. George struggling a bit to extract maximum grip on one single lap, but he will have a few more tries before Q3, so he will be closer. Alex was on mediums, dannyRic had messy 1st try and Ferrari is changing Seb's engine, so will be close for Q.
Midfield Ren and AT have been on it all weekend, McLaren just there or there about. Only RP was off looks like to much wing, so they have some work before Q to get that right.

Nip and tuck for him.
Mazapin has been handed a 5sec penalty for 1 of his moves and 2 penalty points, dropping him from 3rd to 7th and meaning his has 11 penalty points in 2020.
