By FortuneFaded Go To PostIt automatically makes the race non-competitive even if the other teams choose to race.Remember Indy US gp 2005, 6 cars ;)
Non- competetive race In the Bernie days would not happen because contracts, so race anyway, McLaren would complain about the free "test race" , other whine about engine milage, etc. Maybe that Liberty media sees it different and they do something for the fans, if corona situation in Melbourne is ok of course
By Lunatic Go To PostIsn't FP1 in a few hours? Wtf4, they probably had to wait till morning oz time to speak with all teams 1st.
People at the gates to get let in. Still no announcement. Kimi and Seb already flown home.

unbelievable
I blame RBR for getting their car ready on time for the season for the first time in ages ;) And cannot see Zandvoort going on, as we have just announched no 100+ gatherings, need extreme rapid recovery to make that happen.
Any chance they just push the whole calendar back a few months?
Would impact 2021 of course so probably not.

By KP Go To PostAny chance they just push the whole calendar back a few months? How far back? We could be in this for over 6 months. Shits looking like a wrap for most sports seasons.

By KP Go To PostAny chance they just push the whole calendar back a few months?I can see them dropping summer brake, so you can add few european races and add 2/3 after Abu Dhabi But problem for F1 is that you do not just show up and race, you have to send enourmous ammojnts of carho by see and air, which complicates making a working schedule.

Zandvoort day at the beach in the summerbrake sounds lovely.
I honestly think I'd be sick trying to cope with that much pressure... 2 million pound car you can crash at anytime... the episode where Pierre isnt going fast enough and the engineer is like faster faster... I'd definitely crash
By Lunatic Go To PostThe second season is really excellent. Felt like they could have done more but it is what it is.
Half way through and it's REALLY stepped up, like I'm just on the red bull stuff and bloody edge of your seat stuff.
I dont think I've appreciated just how on the edge F1 drivers live when the race. I dont think there is another sport where the margins are so fine. Especially when the mistakes can result in death.
fuck I barely remember last season so this is like watching a drama with some racing, the emotions, my eyes watered when Pierre came second lmao
why does EVERYONE have a Richard Millie lmao, like I saw some kind analyst with one and was like wtf
Haha half the teams on the grid are sponsored by Richard Mille, be surprised if any of those watches have been paid for.
And in more F1 news, with Ferrari also agreeing * the 2021 technicall rules (minus budget cap) are moved to 2022.
Unanimous agreement to postpone new F1 cars for 2021 – but not budget cap
8 times champion of the woöooooooooooooorld
* The agreement is awaiting final approval from the FIA World Motor Sports Council, but is expected to be ratified.

The next one:
With Canada now as first, would not be to surprised if we start even later the way the virus is going over the world.

Pure quality on and off track
Top 5 best f1 drivers ever, as compairing different periods is imho guess work at best So Fangio, Clarck, Senna, Schumacher and Lewis. But Stirling wasn't to bad either and even though he never wona tittle, he could easily make top 10s (F1s Zotemelk :) l

Smart, sensible move to help teams through the coming 2 years.

Sainz or Ricciardo, you would think would be favourites. Ric too much of a #1 driver though.
Saw people on Twitter talking about Giovinazzi and I think that would be the most underwhelming since Kovalainen.
Thought he would stay for at least a year, or try out and give feedback on the new 2021- 2022 rule cars.
Gio isn't good enough
Baby Schumi to inexperienced and not good enough so that's 2/3 years away, if ever
DannyRic would be good choice, but he isn't going to be a nr2
Sainz, still think he isn't good enough to be a top, top driver, so that could be plus over DannyRic
Last years Ferrari acedemy F3 drivers looked good, but that's 3/4 years away.
So Lewis it is then

Hamilton recently did an interview with Sky and Wolff clearly stating that he wants to stay with Mercedes.

Found his hype last season a bit overdone, was more a McLaren that finally wasn't complete shit. And he did not shove away rookie Norris like I expected him to do, if he was top. But younger than DannyRic and if a bit slower, maybe the ideal guy next to Charles, no internal fights, but getting the necessary points for them.
DannyRic to McLaren is a sideways step, if Renault is serious, they are still constructor building their own car/engine. But maybe Danny saw enough and hopes that a budget cap makes McLaren more competitive (but could say the same for Renault?).
