By AlphaSnacks Go To PostWhat's happening here. Background please?Ayesha Curry is Steph's wife and she was legit mad that men other than her husband weren't looking at her while also shaming other women for showing off their fit bodies too much. Now, she has apparently started to get fit and show off her body.
Draymond just liked a tweet that was calling her out on her bullshit.

Oh...damn. That's some cold shit.
No lie, but her sister is a hair stylist a minute from my house.
Lonnie Walker explained why his hair was so long in the first place and why he cut it off:
The real truth as to why i started doing this early 5th grade, it was a cloaking device for me. During the summer of my 5th grade year I was around more family. Some that names will be left alone I was around more. I was sexually harassed, raped, abused, I even got accustomed to it because being at that age you don’t know what is what. I was a gullible curious kid that didn’t know what the real world was. I had a mindset that my hair was something that I can control. My hair was what I can make and create and be mine. And it gave my confidence. As of recently I wasn’t at my best. Previous History popping up in my head and it sucked mentally “demons”….. because of this virus, I began to truly look at myself in the mirror and see who I truly was even behind closed doors. Long story short I have found peace and internal happiness through this journey god willingly. I forgave everyone even the people that don’t deserve it why? Because it’s dead weight. Time doesn’t wait on anyone so why should I waste my time on it ? Me cutting my hair was more than a cut. My hair was a mask of me hiding the insecurity’s that I felt the world wasn’t ready for. But now better then ever. Out with old. In with the new. I have shed my skin mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Life will always be hard. Gotta play with the cards your dealt with and try and make a winning hand. And if you lose. It’s never a lost. It’s a lesson 🙏🏾. I’m gonna be off this for awhile still growing through this. Just know I love each and everyone one of y’all. Peace love and happiness 💕🙏🏾
guess they're gonna make the stand now that the fans thought they shouldve made on Sterling but damn. Silver fix it pls.
Problem 1: Too much freedom of movement will eventually lead to a positive test, and a star player or entire team is getting quarantined for weeks at a time.
Problem 2: Dudes are trying to party in Florida in the middle of summer and protest the current bullshit up through the election.
If the bubble ain't happening the season ain't happening. Only the teams that are 100% desperately trying to win right now are going to want to deal with the restrictions, which is really like 5 teams.
Kyrie about to lose players billions because he probably is telling them that COVID isn't real or can be cured using homeopathy. You hate to see it.
kyrie vs clifford im here for it
either way, it'd be worse in the long run if they get a positive test in all this

By DY_nasty Go To Postkyrie's the one against this nonsense citing player safety right?Maybe? I wanna see some quotes first but my gut instinct says he's probably out there arguing that they don't need restrictions at all because Kyrie 😂
Also isn't Kyrie out and not even playing in Orlando due to injury? I imagine he doesn't even need to show up.

There's no way he'd be cool with the bubble setup being good enough with everything going on.
edit: also he's the VP of the players association now. He's in his lane with this.
I know some of these nba players are acting like they won't mind if the next player on their team gets covid-19, (next man up, blah blah bullshit), but once a player does get it, which WILL happen 100%, all hell will break loose again.

By Method Go To Postlol foh then. That isn't a bubble.
I get there were a lot of competing interests but really the NBA should have kept it as simple as possible

Should've just jumped straight to the playoffs, best of 5 for every round, games played every other day for each series. Half the guys would've been home after a week. 4 months of bubble ball for a bunch of 25-35 yo athletes is just nonsense.

We can both be ahead of the curve. It's not exclusive.
By jjasper Go To Postseems like all this should have happened before the NBAPA vote.Their vote was only an agreement to continue negotiations.
By Kibner Go To PostTheir vote was only an agreement to continue negotiations.ah
what I don't get is Kyrie wasn't going to play anyway or go to the bubble so he wasn't giving up anything and so why is he leading this discussion? is he talking about more than just the bubble games?

The players would have no leverage during those negotiations what with the pandemic and protests.

Very very VERY easy to say that when you're not playing or contending.
Irving and several players on the call, including Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony and Donovan Mitchell, spoke out about not supporting the restarted season because of ongoing social injustice, racism and coronavirus concerns, according to sources. Bradley, the Lakers guard, was the second person to speak on the call behind Irving and was vocal throughout, urging players to take a stand and utilize this moment to “play chess, not checkers,” those sources said.
Howard stressed to players that playing in Orlando will become a distraction from the issues the country is facing, and that they need to unify and use this moment to create a change.
Edit: also unrelated and not super surprising
The NBPA’s leadership stated it is believed no fans will be permitted into games for the entire 2020-21 season
When the National Basketball Players Association conducted a conference call and vote on restarting the season a week ago, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving was an active participant – although his questions were of a mundane nature.
Sources say Irving asked, as an injured player, if he would count among the Nets' allotted 35 people should he want to join the Orlando bubble. Could he sit in the stands to cheer on his teammates? Use a sauna for his rehab?
He had a question about NBA sponsors on campus, and whether they would be supplying players with products. A union official asked him for an example, and Irving mentioned a popular adult beverage – before insisting that he had indeed simply shared an example; and wondered what food might be provided to players under league partnerships.
All in all, his inquiries weren't of weighty consequence.
In recent days, Irving has been one of the prominent player voices tapping into the hearts, minds and ambitions of his peers in the wake of George Floyd's death in police custody. Players are discussing everything now – from the limitations of freedom in the proposed bubble, the value of the remaining season for many teams and players, the risk of sickness and injury, and yes, the pain, anguish and determination of communities throughout the country on the issues of police brutality and racial inequality.

lol
I'm not seeing how it's a distraction any more so than anything else. Teams made up of mostly black athletes will be playing a sport on multiple different TV networks. They will have microphones in front of them pre, mid, and post game. TV commentary will mention current events. The players may even be wearing Black Lives Matter patches or bands, etc. The cause won't be forgotten, unless there is concern that no one will be able to bring up current events.
Players are already losing an estimated $300 million in salary, and terminating the rest of the season would cost another 25% of salary with owners exercising the force majeure provision. That's on top of losing an additional 10% held in escrow that would be lost to the league too. NBA players would stand to lose $1.2 billion in salary this season.Yikes
Let's see if the NCAA reacts to this and makes Jan 2021 reform actually happen

The NCAA now has a little more pressure to change its rules for college athletes ahead of the 2021-22 seasons.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday that he would be signing the state’s law allowing college athletes in Florida to receive endorsement and sponsorship money. That law will go into effect on July 1, 2021.
In his remarks announcing his signature on the bill that was previously approved by Florida’s legislature in an overwhelmingly bipartisan fashion, DeSantis promoted Florida’s college programs and highlighted how Florida schools could now be an even more attractive option for in-state students.

The only reason these things are a focus is because there are no movies or sports, no one is working, and no one is in school. Remember that they didn't even get into the kneeling for the flag thing at all while Ernie Johnson of all people got his Drew Brees on. If they want to hold ground now, more power to em.
Props to these guys for trying to do more than turn their socks inside out and taking selfies this time around.
NBA season would definitely be a distraction. Plus the league will put a bunch of bullshit rules around what is and what isn't allowed as blm demonstrations. Then the media will discuss how this specific thing this player is doing to show support to blm is or isn't enough vs the actual message and fight itself. or the media will just talk about the actual games and not anyone doing any potential demonstration.
Seems flimsy tbh and I think the players are overthinking it. Getting NBA'ers playing again and using that platform to kneel, actively talk about the situation in interviews, etc would help a lot towards keeping the conversation going throughout the summer.
As opposed to....the season being cancelled and them gaining an insignificant amount of clout over it while 60% of players just go back to playing Fortnite.
