Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer
There is reportedly a "belief around the league" that teams currently out of the postseason picture will not resume play this season.WOOHOO Knicks summer vacation! But seriously some of the contingencies the NBA are looking at are interesting. 3-game playoff series? NBA at Disney World?
An unnamed "front office executive" told The Ringer, "[T]he thought is that the league won’t have the time or resources to bring all 30 teams to one location and play out the regular season." The logistics are easier when 16 teams are involved, compared to 30, and teams without immediate championship aspirations might even prefer to sit it out. According to one Eastern Conference assistant coach, "Our players have an itch to get back on the court, but the organization prefers they not return and risk injury when we are already looking ahead to next season."
By Dipro Go To PostDon't bother and move on to 2020/21.it will get canceled, trust me.
By /sy Go To PostRegular season? The fuk? You'd basically screw at least 4 teams out of a chance to grab the 8th seed in their conference. But then again the NBA is looking at a ton of plans, the only thing that seems to be locked in is Florida and Vegas being the "bubble cities".
Just do the playoffs
There is no way they are going to play a full season and the full playoffs. Why would anyone think that is possible at this point? The problem is they are going to have to have a few games prior to the playoffs as warm ups. So how many do you have, who do the teams play, etc? depending on how many games are played seeds 2-10 are up in the air in the west.
My ideas are even more stupid but just gimme a bunch of allstar like games. Mix it up. Fuck team shit atm.

After watching ufc i think Nba without fans could be cool when you can hear all the team communications, trash talk and especially no dumb arena music.
So the long it goes the weirder the season is going to be. Like it was already going to help Portland and to a lesser extent Memphis get healthy but if you get into October you are talking Durant and Kyrie being back for the playoffs.

delaying the regular season allowing Nurkić to miss less games and maybe get Collins back doesn't help?
Nurkic was gonna return on 3/15 and Collins was scheduled to return a week or two before the season ended. Now it's two months later and they are well past their return date so long-term it's beneficial to their health for the season being delayed if not outright cancelled.
By jjasper Go To Postdelaying the regular season allowing Nurkić to miss less games and maybe get Collins back doesn't help?I was very much under the impression that the regular season is over, when Silver refers to "the season" i believe it is about the the 2019-2020 postseason.
Everyone was all "what if Jordan played in the TMZ era" motherfuckers were straight up blaming him for his dad's murder in print in 1993.
Wondering why he would want to walk away from the game when you guys just tried to blame him for his fathers death.
I'd pack my shit up to. Dude had to deal with 2020 media 30 years ago.

Michael Franzese has been in interviews saying as much..
Man just read about the crazy shit people did to the Beatles. Media and fans. Talking jumping off rooftops to their balconies and shit. Even their wives were stalkers. Anyway...

The documentary is a little softer on Jordan than i expected coming in, but man does Pippen have some really low moments that he doubles down on current day.

Like I get it. To this day he's still overlooked and then the whole shit with Kukoc being brought in to replace him essentially, I get why you would be in your feels...but everyone knows the 1 rule in competition is to never quit.

Pip was using the only leverage he had.
Also as much of a creep as Jerry was, MJ was fucking up and he couldn't control the damage he eventually caused.
It is part of what makes MJ so interesting of a figure because with that recklessness he probably wouldn't be as great as he was... fuck he'd probably be Vince Carter

was MJ considered to be the GOAT when he retired in 93?
just watching ep 7 and the one reporter called him that.

dy's boy Burrell took it hard in episode 7
Yeah it wasn't like he was on another level. Just a name you'd mention with Larry, Magic, Kareem, Wilt and Russell and you'd argue the order. First three peat was putting him on that level as a minimum. By the fourth ring you started talking about him being even better than the rest.

We had never heard the audio of MJ crying after the first 3-peat. Heartbreaking that it was on Father's Day too.
