By blackace Go To PostCan't relateI can't either, I grew up in the Bay. Niners baby. Also I knew a bunch of people without teams like my friends from PR that basically half were Niners fans, half Cowboys fans. They could get those games and they were winners. /shrug
I wasn't in Oakland or SF proper or had any fealty to either so my fam rooted for both. My mom doesn't like the idea of the Giants and As ever meeting again in the World Series tho cause that was Loma Prieta. She feels like it's an omen and bad shit will go down.

For all his success coaching in the WNBA, he'll never land an NBA gig.

Not really. At most, the NBA will take a handful of players, it will be no worse than when there was no age limit.

NCAA is proper fucked if football revenue takes a hit, that's for damn sure. The loss of March Madness was a drop in the bucket compared to that.
But as for this NBA thing, who is paying these kids' salaries? They're not going to traditional G-League teams, so it's not going to be the individual team owners. I guess they could be taking some of the league revenue before otherwise distributing it out.
And as far as I know, there's really only a few spots for these kids, unless they start running multiple developmental teams. You're not even going to have a full roster of kids out of high school, either, as the idea is to pair them with veterans to create good habits and a good culture.
And they should.. fuck the NCAA, I don't know why they wouldn't want a minor league. I mean shit you can test all your batshit insane rule changes. Instead of being like David Stern and changing season to season in the NBA lol
NBA is already moving in that direction as well with using the G-League as a testing grounds for rule changes.
By /sy Go To PostRip ncaaThe sooner the better. Pay people legally.
They need to hurry up and do it, fully commit to it. Allow teams to have call up and down options on rookie contract players, maybe keep the age limit for coming to the NBA but allow teams to draft down to the legal working age, like baseball..
They won't get enough as long as it's a "division" or "select" team. Not enough spots.
They need to suck the volume away from the NCAA not the best guys. There's only so many coaches/boosters relatives to fill teams without real players.

NCAA is going to be alright, people will still watch because of the name on the front of the jerseys. What they'll lose, though, is the transcendent, generational talent like Zion Williamson that boosted ratings over and above the norm (Duke's YOY ratings were down this year, even though they were still a great national draw overall).
Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, etc., will still draw viewers. If anything, the G-League growing and perhaps NBA ending the age limit will only work to stifle any further reform at the collegiate level. "Why compensate players or even just allow them to profit off their likeness when they can go pro out of high school?"
