i really wish the hornets were good. not for the city, but so that he can show the world how to talk shit as an nba team owner
“Jordan Brand is different because they only have 31 or 32 players. It’s an elite group… and everyone on the Hornets,” DePaula said with a laugh.

Broke billionaire
He needs to sell the team. Don't know how the NBA approved him to buy.
But reilo
By i can get you a toe Go To PostI still don't get it his predecessor seemed chill enough was he just done with that stress Smokey?
The official line:
The Houston Rockets are for sale.
Team CEO Tad Brown made the announcement at a news conference that owner Leslie Alexander decided to sell the club in the past few days.
Brown told reporters in Houston that Alexander told him: “It can wear on you after so many decades.”
Alexander bought the Rockets prior to the 1993-94 season for $85 million. Forbes recently valued the franchise at $1.65 billion.
But the way it came about and with it being super sudden...idk about that.
I didn't really pay attention to Fertitta like that until he bought the team. I just knew he was all over Houston, the UH arena was renovated and named after him, owns restaurants etc. But then it came to light how cheap he is with his businesses. And that bled into the Rockets with him refusing to go into the luxury tax during the window, and him posturing about how the team has a new custom 747 plane and how he has no problem spending money. Everything he's done since getting the team has been to stay under the luxury tax and be cheap, while also overriding what his basketball operations people tell him (the Westbrook trade).
The article Kib posted said he's used $300 million in credit during this time too. All of his businesses are reliant on people going out, and that's not happening. He's (and the by extension, the Rockets) fucked.
By reilo Go To PostOf course you're gonna be a broke billionaire when you give Harden and CP3 $500milI mean the Blazers have 400mil tied up in two players that might be 11ft together.
By blackace Go To PostI mean the Blazers have 400mil tied up in two players that might be 11ft together. And Jodie Allen is doing just fine
By reilo Go To PostAnd Jodie Allen is doing just fineShe is going to be doing great after she sells the team...
It's looking more likely she's gonna keep it. And even if she were to I won't be counting her pennies like Smokey is.
By reilo Go To PostIt's looking more likely she's gonna keep it. And even if she were to I won't be counting her pennies like Smokey is.The Blazers worth about 2 billion... she don't even like basketball, but maybe she has grown fond of it recently...
By DY_nasty Go To Postuse it or lose it never forgetName of the Hornets draft strategy
By blackace Go To PostThe Blazers worth about 2 billion… she don't even like basketball, but maybe she has grown fond of it recently…She didn't like Paul spend hundreds of millions of his own money to keep the team afloat. Now that it's a moneymaker you can even see her sitting in his old seat at games.

By reilo Go To PostSame could be said for the Seahawks but she's keeping them as well. Along with the Sounders. She loves football, big fan... That is the difference between the two franchises, one is a sport she seemingly enjoys and the other is the Blazers

By Kibner Go To PostHe really, really, really doesn't like the T-Wolves owner. He still has hard feelings from the original trade. Glen Taylor is an idiot and went to Star Tribune after and said Garnett didn't try hard enough in his last couple of seasons (when he was expected to carry bums like Rashad McCants and Marko Jaric to the playoffs, I suppose).
He only came back in 2015 because Flip convinced him to do it. Flip had negotiated an exit for him with Glen where KG would retire, get a job with the team and some tiny stake in ownership. Then Flip passed away, they hired Thibs, who basically told Garnett to fuck off, and Glen didn't do anything to honor the original agreement.
This is how Glen Taylor treats the man that made his franchise worth a billion dollars and relevant for the only period in its history.
By DY_nasty Go To PostRashad McCants is better than Wiggins btw.If he didn't think he was Kobe and above being a sixth man, he maybe could've made it in an instant offense bench role.
By domino Go To Postfuck Rashad McCantslol
I had totally forgotten about some of those guys on those mid 00's Wolves teams. That 06-07 team is so awful: Mike James, Ricky Davis, Trenton Hassell and Mark Blount were the other starters. They were paying a bazillion dollars combined for Troy Hudson and James to collectively be a bad point guard.
If only KG had tried harder, they might've made the playoffs.

Jesus...how many belts does the WWE even have? I swear, I feel like EVERYONE has one. It's awful.
By i can get you a toe Go To PostIt's also because there's like 3 different shows now.
I've been binging through a lot of the Golden and Attitude Era stuff, reliving nostalgia and all. That stuff STILL holds up today. Absolutely epic television. I cannot believe what I'm seeing today is still on air and bringing in attendance. It is utter trash. The crowds are silent, why are they even buying tickets?
By Slavic Go To Posthere's my nba slaent alignment chart because i'm boredi don't deserve this
how is there anything more categorically evil than supporting james harden's destruction of basketball?

By i can get you a toe Go To PostIf you're watching anything other than NXT (also AEW > *) you're doing it wrong tbh.Yeah, NXT is the closest thing WWE does to good television anymore. I've been far less interested in it since they started airing it live and making it a third brand, though. It's not even really developmental now, but a place for disgruntled main roster people like Balor and Breeze and popular indie guys.
Also, the Shawn Michaels influence on their big matches has really been creeping up in a bad way.
It was better before McMahon actually noticed it and obviously started weighing in on shit that's for sure.
They should be building up Rhea Ripley as one of their next stars and she just jobbed to Charlotte. Good stuff happening in NXT these days.
They're really gonna suck until McMahon stands down. He keeps up with these boomer matches and giving belts to people no one gives two shits about anymore.
