games without fans makes the most sense and they could try to adjust the cameras so it isn’t super noticeable on TV but then they have the arena staff that relies on the games for living. They would have to figure out what to do with sold tickets, then you are having teams still travel and stay in hotels where the virus is active which is not great for them. Then what happens if one player gets it? The odds of this happening in the next month are pretty high. The whole team and coaches and anyone team they might have played against the last week would be quarantined for 2 weeks.

Yes, league health depends on it
NBA has been the healthiest its been between 2012-2019 when the Lakers didn't even make the playoffs.
The two biggest market franchises in the league sucked all kinds of ass for the past decade and the NBA was in great shape.
So, what I am saying is, for the health of the NBA, contract the Lakers and Knicks.

It's sagging again and it's because there's no villain. We need to fill GS shoes and pop 3 off in a row.

14 Bricks, I remember you wanting to see what Fred Vinson does and the Pels recently uploaded a video of him working with Lonzo and Ingram:
A top federal health official gave lawmakers a stark warning on Wednesday that the coronavirus would continue to spread in the United States, and said that fans should be barred from big gatherings like National Basketball Association games. At the conference just now declaring the virus a pandemic
“The bottom line: It is going to get worse,” Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the House Oversight Committee.
“We would recommend that there not be large crowds,” he added. “If that means not having any people in the audience as the N.B.A. plays, so be it.”
No events in SF over 1k damn. Wonder if LA is next.
Friends and I were going to Clippers/Suns on the 20th. Fuck everything?

drop 3 massive green screen sheets around the court and overlay a 2k20 crowd over it for the broadcast

Minimum wage workers gonna get fucked again
Maybe the billionaires should continue to pay arena workers during the crisis. Since all the dudes that own NBA teams are obscenely wealthy and wouldn't miss the money. Just a thought.

Just a thought. That's some grade A socialism there bud. Pay people when they're not working? Like some sort of compensation for unforeseen circumstances? If they're not laboring they shouldn't be paid.

But sources say the league is still considering more sensible options as well, among them the prospect of pushing its entire calendar back. The NBA has been asking teams to provide its arena schedule through July, which is as clear a sign as any that the notion of putting everything on hold for a while so the authorities can attempt to contain the virus remains in play. If nothing else, it’s a good sign that the focus is moving away from half-measures to full ones – dollars be damned.
If they play with no fans, they at least still get the television money. They'll do that because if they go on hiatus, there's no guarantee when they come back.

Cancelling was never a real option
By jjasper Go To Postneed to remove blackouts from league pass.Yes! If you literally aren't allowed in the arena, they should not block you from streaming the game.
But you're also talking about people that aren't going to pay their minimum wage arena workers so they'll probably just tell you to get cable.

I’ve been saying this for years
Let us watch from court side
Personally I’d say end the season for teams not in the playoff picture
