bruh your body is absolutely swimming in antibodies
you probably took an Antibody test, an Antigen test is just a quicker test for an active infection.

Indeed, That's why I was real iffy on if I needed to take the second shot
It was antibody, my bad. Pricked your finger, got results in 10 minutes.

University started offering vaccines to students. Got appointment booked for next Wed. It’s J&J so only need one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in lifetime.

The B.1.1.7 variant, first identified in Britain, is now the source of most new coronavirus infections in the United States, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said..

By Celcius Go To PostHmm, pfizer vaccines are supposed to be 3 weeks apart but Walgreens scheduled me for 4 weeks apartWalgreens was doing that to make it consistent with the Moderna vaccine. Supposedly they just changed to 3 weeks as that is the CDC recommendation but up 6 weeks is the requirement.
By Fenderputty Go To PostThis is what I’m hopingIt honestly isn't that bad. Just took some Panadol and was fine. Still the weirdest I've felt before; It's like you are sick but not sick.

Basically we have data on 3 weeks because that's what the trials were based on. I bet you could reschedule but it might take a bit for the info to get down to different CVS locations that would allow you to do that.

I really hope people dont think these vaccines are a panacea and they can go back to business as usual.
By Daz Go To PostI really hope people dont think these vaccines are a panacea and they can go back to business as usual. So I should cancel the orgy then?
Not when they all have a crying degrees of effectiveness.
We don't know how long they keep you immune for.
Then there's the trouble of new variants.
I've seen morons ready to ditch masks, hand washing and general common sense cause they got their shots.
Need I remind people that these vaccines were developed in less than a year which is pretty much unprecedented for a disease this widespread.

Pretty sure with all vaccines that there is low likelihood of transmission and if you do get sick you won't die. There is no evidence to suggest that current variants won't be covered by the vaccines. Also we do know how immunity works quite well. Just because antibodies aren't retained does not suggest you've lost immunity. This is essentially naturally and there are studies that confirm this with current vaccines.
Also the vaccines were basically developed in a few days it was the trails phases and production that caused delay of thier releases. The speed of development does not suggest it would not be effective as coronaviruses are well known at this point from the experience with the multiple coronaviruses that affect humans. The mRNA vaccines were built on development of a vaccine for the previous SARS-CoV-1.
You can continue to worry that's your choice but know that it's unfounded.

every study thats shown up the past few weeks more or less indicate if youre vaccinated while you do get covid your body fights off most effects and trasmission is essentially almost nil, so id say if anything the more we're learning about the vaccines the more they sound like the golden ticket

This thread about Brazil is fucked up.
Ok so I woke up feeling pretty shitty this morning. Seems to be subsiding some but I’m tired and achy.
Our main issue is not the new variant, the problem is that public health has colapsed all around the country. The new variant is more infeccious, yes, but people are dying on the queue for a CTI/ventilation spot everywhere.
There's not enough care for everyone infected. This was always going to happen when we have a president against vaccination and lockdowns. He declined pfeizer offer of 70m doses in september last year.
Our attorney general of the union just said yesterday that he was against prohibiting churches cults, he said "christians are willing to die to keep their freedom of religion and cult".
This is not the summit. This is gonna get worse and worse. At the moment, only 10% of the population got the 1st dose of vaccines, and less than 4% got the 2nd one. Vaccination pace is extremely slow. I'll be extremely surprised if I get the first shot this year.
I'm completely paranoid whenever I need to leave my house these days.
