A couple notes on those metrics because people keep being confused by them and nobody is really talking about it:
Positivity percent is actually sometimes measured differently in different states. Most measure by the percent of tests that come back positive but some measure by the percent of people that test positive. With increased testing the percentage on the test positivity is much lower than the personage positive. Don't know how Texas is measuring though.
Vaccine distribution/population percent is actually not a great metric for determining how a state is doing with getting the vaccine out because the federal government issues the vaccines based on population age. States with older populations should be doing better than states with younger populations. Percent of vaccines given based on federally allocated vaccines is a bit better metric. Texas is 42nd, California is 28th.

I was really happy when I went to the DMV today that, even though the state mask mandate had been lifted, masks were still required. They also enforced social distancing and restricted how many people were allowed in the building at once. In addition to wiping down surfaces between every "customer". I was relieved they were still taking it seriously.

My grandma is getting her first COVID-19 shot on the 16th! She just turned 90 so she’s first in line now that general population vaccinations are beginning.
Scheduled my first shot on Walmart's site last night. FYI the next available day becomes available at 12a on the site. I refreshed at that time, and was able to pick any time slot.
