My sister got vaccinated today. She's an IC nurse in training. She said that, and I can't possibly verify this, 10% of nurses have refused the vaccine.

Damn the US really have us beat. This figure came from the ICU and COVID departments from a Rotterdam hospital. The news reported that around 200,000/260,000 of nursing home workers applied for the vaccine in the past five days (different from hospital staff).
By Xpike Go To PostFauci actually thinking they would vaccinate everyone by June :laughing:Realistically we only need to get to 70-80 percent immunity.

Every Saturday for the last 4 weeks, there has been an demonstration announced outside of the copenhagen municipal (which they are not allowed to stop), against covid restrictions, and then people party... and then usually start fighting with the police and throw fireworks at them when they tell them to go home.
Got to say it's all a bit try-hard from the Irish here. It's like, yeah anyone can do that if they really wanted. It's showboating. Have a bit of class.

Have a bit of class.I was watching rté news at the weekend and at one point the newsreader said "these are obviously bad figures but they'll get better next week" with no indication as to why that would be the case.
In some good news, the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine will have a better production than planned. Instead of 1,3 billion doses, they'll plan with 2 billion currently do smoother production, more partners for production etc.
How many Brits who get a vaccine will end up thinking they're invincible and getting infected anyway? 45% ?
By Lupercal Go To PostHow many Brits who get a vaccine will end up thinking they're invincible and getting infected anyway? 45% ?Presume it's been posted but it was reported that some people were turning down Pfizer vaccine because they wanted to wait for the English one.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostSuper lockdown coming. What about work?
Seems like it’ll be the same rules as the March lockdown essentially. Work like normal, deliveries count as essential service, etc. The government has called a state of emergency as well to allow them to make rules quicker rather than go through the legislative process. We’ll see what happens.
I think which countries are having a normal one and which aren't will be very disparate by then. Think some countries are just really struggling with the logistics of the rollout. And some countries just don't have vacci9ne supply yet.

Pretty good news. Although I would hope they can do more with 7 large sites (hospitals and leisure centres) and 321 GP surgeries.
