By sohois Go To Postsure, but I don't think they browse slaent. Is this supposed to be some gotcha? There have been several thousand deaths of healthy working age adults from the virus. There have also been thousands of deaths from traffic accidents, from accidents in general, from rare complications of other common diseases, from rare diseases, and many other causes. Each one is very unfortunate for the victim but highly unlikely overall. And yet I don't see you crossing the freeway during rush hour
By DY_nasty Go To PostDoes vaccine cover super rona?Every health officials and vaccine makers have stated they aren't worried about the new strain and should be affective against it.
Ive been puzzled myself on why mainstream media have been hyping up and giving this much attention to the new strain.
By inky Go To PostMight as well go out and get run over by a car ladsI think sohois might actually be Klopp
(why is this still going lol)
We won't see most of the population get vaccinated until like August next year, and that is for the richest countries like UK, US and Japan, so it is still a worry considering people are already acting like this shit is over and breaking every rule, the new strain is gonna make things even worse than they were.

Man, these viewership numbers aren't gonna cut it for a post-Trump media, they need something else to bring in viewers/readers.

I don't think it's really possible to try and cross the motorways in the UK, there's no pavements leading to them. Youd have to drive onto the hard shoulder and park.

How do these studies re-imerge out of nowhere? I believe that's the same one that caused the Big Ten to pause football then was basically dismissed as low quality evidence.
I confess I've never imagined this pandemic to get this bad. I remember the first time I heard about it in early january on my daily run. Didn't give a shit about it. I had an event to attend for Gran Turismo at Sydney, Australia on february. I remember when I arrived there, Brazil just had their first confirmed case. Airports were only really blocking people coming from China at the time. At Sydney, there was a cruise ship sit on the bay of the Opera house and there was a rumor of a covid case there. It was the first time I feared the virus.
On mid march things started to get worse here in Brazil, but I kept living my life normaly. Wasn't until may when quarentine and mask were enforced into us that I really started to get serious about it. I haven't left my residence for anything apart from pretty much essencial stuff since then.
I have always been a homy lad, but I really can't wait to be free again. I will continue to avoid aglomerations and everything, take the vaccine as soon as I can.
2021 will be just as bad as 2020 in my opinion, especially if you live on a country like I do, where we don't even have vaccinaton schedule. It's gonna be bad.
And I'm not even talking about the economic part, only the health situation. We have basically the worst human being on charge at the worst time in the history of modern civilization.
At least USA got rid of Trump, we have 2 more years of Bolsonaro.

i‘m officially in line to get the pfizer vaccine. should be around april when i get it but anything before summer is fine with me.
Looks like DY’s wait and see approach may be a feature and not an option? We fucking up distribution lol
Trump's admin's insistence to leave shit up to the states every step of the way is a colossal fuck-up through-and-through.
By reilo Go To PostTrump's admin's insistence to leave shit up to the states every step of the way is a colossal fuck-up through-and-through.we've never done multi-state responses well ever. if two states get hit by the same hurricane, one of em is guaranteed to be fucked over
our shit healthcare infrastructure being the key cog here too? lol. only a handful of countries were gonna get the distribution right off the bat and the US was never going to be one of them.
We never did it well but we purposefully said we weren't even going to try. Even something as PPE acquisition and vaccine distribution was left up to the states. It's borderline criminal.
Relying on the states to do things isn't an option, its a requirement.
California had to come up with their own little coalition to verify the vaccine was safe because they didn't trust the administration. Imagine Trump just says "fuck you, do it anyway". I'm sure that would have gone great.

again, i been saying 'states ain't shit' for a very, very long time. the fact that states can tell the fed to fuck off on multiple levels on the same point while also dealing directly with other states and sometimes other countries is fugazi as hell. its great when it works but more times than not, when shits the fan, its a mess
By diehard Go To PostRelying on the states to do things isn't an option, its a requirement.basically.
I was definitely expecting some distribution problems though, the cold storage requirements kinda make it a logistics nightmare.
Man, it goes much further than that. To say it should be up to states to acquire PPE when we had a literal national stockpile that wasn't replenished for a decade is completely off-base on both of your parts. The federal government has the means to mobilize distribution of basic things like that, states on the whole do not. Hell, we didn't even say that masks were a good thing until mid-April -- nevermind a national mandate.
And leaving shit to the states is why we are in this fucking mess -- they can't handle this on their own. We needed a strong federal response to this virus and at every step of the way the duty was abdicated by design.
Also, to say that states told the feds to fuck-off when they were trying to acquiring PPE early in the year is as bold-faced of inaccuracy as I have seen. They were begging the feds to handle the acquisition and distribution.

By reilo Go To PostHell, we didn't even say that masks were a good thing until mid-April – nevermind a national mandate. As far as Western society goes, the CDC was actually ahead of most organizations regarding masks. A national mandate was never anything other than a political point to score brownie points.
"A national mandate is not possible because public health powers belong to the states, not the federal government," said Lawrence Gostin, director of Georgetown University’s O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law. "The federal government couldn’t implement its own mask mandates, nor could it force the states to do it."
I won't disagree that there have been plenty of fuck-ups along the way though and calling them out is a good thing.
Mid-April was pretty quick, relatively speaking.... and masks got cleaned out long before then anyways. Getting them available on such a scale happened quicker than I expected too all things considered.
I actually just got off the phone with my grandma. Was telling me about how some of her friends who foster kids are just completely out of sorts :/
Mentioned the military possibly being used to assist in logistical support and storage of the vaccines then she immediately stopped herself and laughed at how people would've lost their fucking minds if they saw uniformed personnel guarding vials and telling them where they fell on the priority list lol

UK are absolutely winging this, with assumptions in place of data.

Yen with the slander about the UK government. We all know that Boris's government would never just wing it and make it up as they are going along. They are known and respected for being well prepared in all areas.
Saw footage of Auckland's NYE party which doesn't look too different from any other year and it has me feeling pissed off. There's no good reason Ireland couldn't have been in the same position and dealt with this like they did.
