By Lunatic Go To PostAren't you on track to hoard 400m doses for your puny 35m population.Something like that, yeah. Nearly 10 doses a person lol but Trudeau said we will be donating the rest to less well-off nations.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostSomething like that, yeah. Nearly 10 doses a person lol but Trudeau said we will be donating the rest to less well-off nations. The US will be happy.
By Xpike Go To Postphew the us really needs that vaccine like nowWhat do you want us to do, wear masks and social distance? This is America, friend, land of the free.

few places are as weird as college station. whole town got a cult vibe.
By Xpike Go To Postyoud think they would know better, being in college and allThere was a report in the NY Times over the weekend about how American colleges have been these massive superspreaders, but universities are planning to open more in-person instruction in the spring under this weird guise that students are not contracting covid in the classrooms (just in their dorms/apartments, student centers, the libraries, etc).
lol
Rest assured that America has this whole thing figured out.

It's my understanding that have free on-campus testing could more than offset any increased risk that would come from in-person classes, because it will catch presymptomatic cases of kids that are doing whatever they want off campus anyway.
By DY_nasty Go To Postthere's still no way im touching a vaccine any time soonInto my veins as soon as possible I say. I want to travel again.
By Lunatic Go To PostInto my veins as soon as possible I say. I want to travel again.i'm super content in hermit mode tbh. the rest of the world can early adopt this next gen vaccine. i'll check in at the end of 2021 at the earliest
By Xpike Go To Postgood thing for dy is if everyone around you gets the vaccine you dont need tolol i don't even want them around either
By Xpike Go To Postgood thing for dy is if everyone around you gets the vaccine you dont need toThey could still be carriers

However we won't have any long term side effects until a decade has past so not sure waiting a year is going to give you a clearer picture.

It basically seems to vary from college to college and how prepared they are with regards to testing and tracing. I guess I'm pretty dubious of claims some of these schools are making and attribute a lot of it to wanting the the money from room and board and meal plans.
By Lunatic Go To PostThey could still be carriersi don't think we'll be in a situation where infection rates are dawn of the dead numbers this time next year for one... that alone will calm a lot of people the fuck down and lead to more honest and open remarks on things.

edit: just little stuff like this got me ready to be extra patient

By rodeoclown Go To Posthttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/06/us/colleges-covid-spring-semester.htmlI mean, i can definitely see how having kids live on campus and away from their parents/grandparents could be a net positive.

By DY_nasty Go To PostThat's my secret, diehard. I'm always alarmed.I prefer "vigilant" , it sounds way cooler.
By diehard Go To PostI prefer "vigilant" , it sounds way cooler.Yeah, watchful vigilante sounds way radder than paranoid alarmist
By Xpike Go To Postgood thing for dy is if everyone around you gets the vaccine you dont need toThe reverse Sohois.
By diehard Go To PostI prefer "vigilant" , it sounds way cooler.I've been vigilant before. It sucks and attracts weirdos
By Lunatic Go To PostYea I understand none of that. Going leave that to the experts lol.nah ima go listen to me dad talk about how bill gates invented covid again
I'm just happy they're putting the tracking chip in all of us at once instead of through any immunization shot over the course of the last couple of decades
By DY_nasty Go To Postwhat even are the side effects
You feel like shit for 2 days.
By DY_nasty Go To Postwhat even are the side effectsI mean most injections into your muscles is going to leave it sore for a day or two. Also it's an immune response.
By diehard Go To PostI know someone who got the Moderna trial and said "It was like the worst hangover for a day"
I know someone in their 30’s who’s a “long termer” still experiencing symptoms 6 months later
By Perfect Blue Go To PostTrudeau: *laughs*If we're being real, the Moderna vaccine is more attractive.
We can wait to see how most of this stuff turns out. Remember when Trump was going to rush a vaccine out and kill us all? Now US is taking longer than other countries to approve them.
By diehard Go To PostIf we're being real, the Moderna vaccine is more attractive. We are getting the Modern one as well

If we’re being real. It is still a dumb as fuck decision on top of a number of other dumb as fuck decisions.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWe are getting the Modern one as wellThat seems strange then, 249k doses is comparatively very low. (California has an equivalent population and says they are getting 2.19 million in the same time frame for example.)
