Pizza worker's 'lie' forced South Australia lockdown
South Australia decided to enter a state-wide lockdown based on a lie told by a man with Covid-19 about his link to a pizza shop, police say.
The strict lockdown began on Wednesday after the state detected 36 infections, including its first locally acquired cases since April.
But this would have been avoided if the man had told the truth, that he worked shifts at the shop, officials said.
He said he only went there to buy a pizza.
This misinformation prompted health officials to assume the man had caught the virus during a very brief exposure and that the strain must be a highly contagious one.
Daughter of a co-worker of mine is doing an internship at a gym, they had a positive case confirmed today.
The girl was very nervous on the phone, claiming the gym knew before and didn't say nothing (they still haven't said anything publicly), the girl had been having a sore throat for the last couple of days, thinks she had fever today, couldn't taste her lunch and was having trouble breathing.
Could be the nerves but who knows. If her mother has it, things are going to be a bit troubling.
We all have been pretty relaxed about wearing masks inside the department (situation was under control in the island until the last couple of days) and we all work close to each other.
Let's see what happens in the next few days.

Obviously she is no nazi, but the completely silly laws put in place against covid, really are driving people nuts now. Her party managed to get a law through here, that meant they could do 'emergency laws' without a majority, that would last 8 months, and is about to expire (and doesnt seem to be get renewed).
She (and her whole party) had a lot of good will but after going against experts and so on quite a few times it has faded. There is no rhyme or reason to most of it, and when people have their livelihoods taken away from them, due to laws and rules that aren't logical at all, the response will be... quite harsh.

Oxford seems to be the one that will bring us back into normal since it doesn't have strict requirements to store as the rest and only needs 1 1/2 dose per person
