The only thing that scares me currently (other than the obvious state of a global pandemic) is that we've had incredibly few amount of cases over here, almost to the point where you shouldn't really believe the numbers. There is fear that testing and protocols aren't adequate (restricted to people who travel and have had contact with foreigners from certain countries), so it isn't even a case of trying to hide data, but there is no ruling that out either after our government refused to assist nationals in China after the first outbreak in Wuhan, saying there was little to fear.
We were at the epicenter of H1N1 last decade, it was on the news 24/7, so it felt that we were taking it seriously at least. But that shit also came and went really fast. I don't remember losing more than 1 day of college over it. Mortality rate wasn't that large that time which helped, but these days you don't really feel anyone here is concerned or even thinking about it seriously. But how can we be isolated from it, when you see it spreading so fast in Europe.
Worst case scenario is that we are just waiting for thing to get bad, like a first death or state widespread reports to start doing something about it. It's kind of nuts.

FDA has lifted all of that and will ramp up clinical trials. They are already using drugs for Ebola and SARS treatments regularly, including in WA state without any testing and are finding them to be effective.
