I agree with Lunatic, the poli thread was getting crowded with pandemic talks.
That being said, this is seemingly getting worse and not better so I’m expect more news to keep coming.
Let’s try and keep content in one place.

I I was reading that Vietnam is shutting an f ton of schools down for a month. Wonder if trumps efforts are even having an effect on the markets. Would it be worse?

I know … but it's still spreading. 83 confirmed in CA and we know people got it that don't know they have it. So …. could this happen in CA or NY or someplace like that? If it did, what's that do to an economy?

I wanna know the percentage of people recovering from it, it has to be high based on the mortality rate and the length of time it stays in your system?

Sure, I'm viewing this through the admin's prism.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostPeople who are asymptomatic don't seem to be able to spread it.
It's the people that are symptomatic that aren't getting checked. "It's just a cold, not going to the doctor. Ain't got time or money for that."
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostIs this still "Just the flu" as I've seen morons on other forums call it?From what I understand, what was seen of it originally was very similar to flu. However, the scientists studying it do/did not know how or how effectively it spreads, propensity, direction, and quickness of mutation, etc. Basically, a lot of unknowns for something that appears to be relatively contagious causes worry in people who study such things.
I think the mortality rates have varied by nations hit too. China's is like 2.5 - high 2's and (don't remember where) is around 1%.
So probably more dangerous than your average flu but not more dangerous than say the Spanish flu.

I was reading that Iran's is likely that high because of underreported infections.
30K of the 78K in China recovered as well, that's pretty high. The rest still in recovery aside from the 2K that unfortunately passed.
It's mostly killing the old and those with some kind of
pre-existing condition that would make them immunocompromised.

By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostIs this still "Just the flu" as I've seen morons on other forums call it?Between 10000 and 50000 people actually die to the flu every year just in the US and a near quarter of a mill end up in the hospital. The issue with these ones like Corona is they're particularly virulent for reasons and spread quick.
By Laboured Go To PostWhatever you do, do not purchase DY's essential oils.Buy my crystals instead. I got them from kidjr so if rubbing them doesn't help you can smoke them.
By linsivvi Go To PostIn Japan the bulk of those cases were found on that ship. Korea is much more worrying, especially with the way people dipping their chopsticks in shared dishes, much like Chinese culture.Japan isn't even testing folks like they should. Korea has known cases because they are very on top of their testing... originally Japan called their citizens back from China and express lined them into the country. No test, no safety measures just fuckery

Often from people in mostly unaffected areas.

First suspected case in the island. It's a bit worrisome because it was Carnaval the past few days and people spend all day from Saturday to Tuesday in the halls of the parishs spread around the island watching a type of traditional comedy theater.
It's usually packed with people breathing the same air with very little ventilation and old people are a big part of the audience.
There's also tons of costume parties, outside and inside, full with hundreds of people and a couple thousand packed on a small street.
The risk of contamination would be very high.
