I think he’s right. You’re offside or not. You’re not ‘8cm offside but that’s okay’.
By Hitch Go To Post'We love football because of the goals'Exactly lmao
Unlucky, defenses that hold a proper line.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI think he’s right. You’re offside or not. You’re not ‘8cm offside but that’s okay’.It's madness. Whatever the spirit of the rule was when it was first introduced, it's one of the only things (like goal line tech) that is as objective as it gets (provided they know how to draw fucking lines). It fucks everyone over equally, yet everybody is trying to make it a subjective call for no fucking reason other than VAR is handled by buffoons and it takes too long.

Mm, the subjectivity comes in things like the Maguire foul earlier. There, I’m not sure what rules of the game are being followed and how the refs have come to their conclusion. Offsides - not fussed at all. It fixes issues. Doing its job.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI think he’s right. You’re offside or not. You’re not ‘8cm offside but that’s okay’.Not that this one wasn't clear but did you see the one wolves got against them at the weekend where the build-up was called offside when he was running BACK and his back toe was like 2 cms offside. Yeah, it definitely needs a review again. And it's not like goal line technology where the tech is there either.
By Xpike Go To Posti think if you gotta draw a milimetric line its too farExactly
but these are both offsides

The issue is, even with calls like today’s there’s huge debate. Why? Where is the debate?

By n8 dogg Go To PostThe issue is, even with calls like today’s there’s huge debate. Why? Where is the debate?I think the millimetre calls just take too long, and are at the mercy of technology that isn't perfect. Ones like that Giroud one though, one replay, one angle, two lines, clear distance between them, decision made in 20 seconds. Don't see how anyone could have a problem with that being ruled out.
I'm making the debate against Gary which think every case is the same and 'offside is offside m8' when there deffo has been dubious mm cases in a few matches and also going back to the whole 'in what sequence did it affect play' discussion.

The ones people despise are those ones where an arm is sticking out and they have to guess where the shoulder begins and the upper arm ends, then spend 5 minutes drawing a line down that shows a 1cm offside.

Let's say he scores with his foot but var says he's offside with his shoulder by 3 cms. Guess what though, he didn't fucking use his shoulder.
could have used his penis though

Think that's the first time the armpit was used, and it still didn't look correct.
Thought Chels looked a lot more impressive on day one of the season than they did tonight.
First ever PL double over Chelsea, I believe.
