Man, Heroes Season 1 is on prime.
Man, that season is still pristine in my mind - do I risk sullying it?

very different time, friend
The only good thing to come out of Heroes is that is made Masi Oka somewhat rich and popular, which allowed him to found Mobius Digital Games, the studio behind Outer Wilds, one of the best games of the past few years. For that alone, I salute it.
Heroes season 1 was pretty good, riiight until the final episode, where it was just terrible all around.
Out of interest did any of you lot know Laurence Fox's name before he jumped aboard the Hopkins train?
I just knew him as that long-faced guy from Lewis. Have to wonder how much of it is a quick and easy grab for brief fame in the midst of a flagging career.

i enjoyed it.

I gotta get my mom's password. I want to watch it.
I just pray it doesn't turn into the annoying 'look, we're modern Trek!' mess that was Discovery S2. Hopefully Picard's soothing presence will be enough to keep it feeling more ... personal and grounded.
I'm just hoping every episode doesn't have a (admittedly badass) fight scene but I saw the Vulcan with katanas in the trailer so that might be asking too much
Now that I have finished all of Elementary, it's time to rank all the Sherlocks and Watsons (yes I am including film):
Sherlocks
1. Jonny Lee Miller
2. Hugh Laurie
...
(huge gap)
...
3. Benedict Cumberbatch
4. Robert Downey Jr
Watsons
1a. Lucy Liu
1b. Robert Sean Leonard
3. Martin Freeman
4. Jude Law
This list is definitive. All arguments are final.

Trying to make a Sherlock list and you don't even have Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce on there.
Worst list of all time.

If you genuinely like Holmes then the film series is a great watch. They showed them all on the BBC one Christmas holiday.
I thought Sherlock was good when they actually had him do Sherlock Holmes things and not James Bond lite, which was about 4 episodes. And then everything turned so bad, didn't even bother watching the last season at all.
Well, I saw Picard's first episode, and I don't know... It has all of Kurtzman's dirty fingerprints all over it*. I didn't hate it or think it was shit. Very pretty tho.
The episode itself was enjoyable enough, the most off putting part was the season preview at the end (see above*), what with the quick cuts of the crew throwing all that attitude and the one liners and all the stuff wrapping around androids and the Borg like that's supposed to hook you in (crazy old man Frakes did a bit, ngl). I understand they are never gonna do TNG again, it's more cinematic and you need cliffhangers and a fast paced adventure suited more to modern attention spans. I appreciate that at least they know so it's just "how would this old man fit in this new vision we have". Maybe they can do something interesting with that.
Every time they pumped up the action and sped the characters up we got the TNG movies, and that always made it feel like you were watching a different character. This is not doing that which I kinda appreciated, but at the same time, a drip feed of old in the current ST setting when you could've just tried to keep it low key and very basic (few characters, few locations, long stretches of more deliberate TV drama with ethical dilemmas and tons of well written speeches: a more diplomatic approach) could've worked better, considering you already have Discovery for your high octane, emotional drama.
I'll do it for Zabo, but I don't promise to like it.

I too am hoping they slow it down some. The stupidly high budget is gonna hurt it in this regard tho
By inky Go To PostI'll do it for Zabo, but I don't promise to like it.Not like there are many sci-fi alternatives these days. Take it or leave it, I guess.
As long as it doesn't turn into another Discovery, I'll keep watching. For Gianluca Piccardi.
good place ending this week.
one of the best comedies in the recent years.
any good comedies out there still going? besides stuff that everybody knows like Curb.

By /sy Go To PostIt's been bad since season 3 imo. Peaked with season 1
Season 1: amazing
Season 2: good
Season 3: ehh it has soMe moments
Not watched 4 yet.
IMO, after the reveal in season the 1 ending, the plot has gotten more and more convoluted and dumb.
