the remixed iteration of 4 is just plain dumb really, the POV idea was not bad and making everything in chronological order ruins most of the twists and punchlines by removing their setups lmao...
The biggest and maybe only issue with first few seasons of Billions is how woefully and terribly miscast Lara Axelrod is. The show features some premier scene chewers including but not limited to the wonderful Maggie Siff as Wendy Rhoades and Lara's character is basically lifeless. Wendy just walks all over her like she walks on Chuck's balls in their bondage room.

Colbert deserves better than this. The year before Trump he had no idea how to play it straight after ten years of caricature and was being overshadowed by Corden of all people. Then at the peak of post-Obama neoliberal terror he shot to the top and has been riding that wave ever since. John Oliver isn't necessarily funnier, but he's definitely more genuine. Honestly hard hard to tell if Colbert's happy anymore or not.
