Phones are bad but... i've mentioned before I know so many people that mention drink and driving, I think because people think they are raging drunk it's ok. Pet peeve of mine.
By Facism Go To PostPeople on their mobiles whilst driving proper tilt me. Hope they crash their vehicles somewhere secluded and die before they harm anyone. It's similar to drunk driving, ask anybody that texts and drives or drinks and drives
They all tell you that they're good at it, are in control etc. But don't realise how obviously bad they're driving
I knew someone that left a gathering once saying he is a good drunk driver and he died on his way home. Everyone is a good driver until they aren't. #deep
The difference is though for texting and driving, if it's a red light or a traffic jam or something then obviously it's different

I dont know what a 405 rush is
My brother that now lives in Turks and Caicos got in a near-fatal car crash there about a decade ago because there is just a full-blown culture of drink driving there which he got into (everyone does not trust taxis or public transport there because the assumption is you'll get jacked).
Him and his partner needed to be airlifted to Miami for life saving surgery.

The 405 is a top 10 traffic spot in the world IiRC. Specifically north of the 110 as you head toward LAX and century city and shit.
The vet that I used to work with was from Cameroon and could not drive without being on the phone sending texts. Every time we had a close call or he did some dirty shit--like made a left hand turn across multiple lanes--he would laugh at me screaming, talking about: "I'm sorry, Kimo, I'm sorry. African driver, African driver, haha".
I wasn't on the insurance to drive the van for house calls, so I just had to roll with it. He would try, but as soon as we stopped at a red light or if a Whatsapp message appeared, he'd be right back at it.

my commute is like an hour and the road is normally clear, I gotta use my phone I'm sorry ;_;
I never do when I'm driving someone though (or when I'm out with anyone in general)

why do you gotta use the phone? yurt please don't.
i don't even talk on speaker since science has shown that's very dangerous too and much more dangerous than talking to someone who is in the car with you.

I once rode on the interstate with my boss and he kept checking his phone . Shit was terrifying , it was like Peter Griffin trying to read the Archie comics

Whats worse excessive speeding or texting and driving?
Just trying to contextualise how wreckless my pops was growing up as we would regularly hit 140 on motorways and hit the 155 limiter a few times. Seemed fun as a kid tbh.
By Kidjr Go To PostDeadWith modern cars and all the improvements in safety? Ehhh, I'd say texting is worse. Speeding presumably you're actually focused on the road.

Probably equally bad though.
By sy Go To Postspeeding is absolutely worse wtf, especially in residential areasdepends how fast you're going.
I don't care if you're on your phone, they'll never stop that from happening, but just keep up with traffic or get the fuck out of the way.
These people that are on their phones and slowing the rest of us down are the ones that need to be flogged and shamed.

Pretty clear by now, but just found the condition in the AC manual confirming that the compressor won't work regularly in heat above 109°

If I’m in bed at 11 and waking up at 7:30, that’s a sign of a good day to come.

By Daz Go To PostIn the words of the Virgin Mary 'Come again?'I think the story goes a family decided to highlight their gender reveal party with some fireworks - during what feels like should've been clear forest fire warning/advisory conditions. And now the state and governor are looking to make an example out of them which is very okay imo.
Gender reveal parties are cute but holy shit fucking with fireworks is just a massive no lol. Don’t think most folks realize that improper use of those things can cause real serious damage.
