Fender has literally own multiple homes, my brother is on his 2nd, he just bought it a few months at 48 years old to boot. It's cool to be cautious but the levels of feels you are projecting on homeowning is wild tho.
yeah there is risk, and sometimes hassles. I can see those as reasons for being shook
but your grind is done, it's all downhill seems like made up issues to me.

By DY_nasty Go To Postits a cheat code. he knows the bigger home he's aiming for likely isn't covered by it
200iq
Absolutely true. He was very limited and took longer to find his house in 2009 than I did.
FYI ... banks are less likely to deal with VA and FHA loans. Standard sales with private owners are chill though. 2008 was wild cause everything was a bank owned repo. A standard sale had 50 offers on day 1. Cause nobody had 20 down. We actually bought our house off mArket at the time. Talked to the seller before she put it up
fha offers minimum of 3.5% but with pmi, but you could refi into a conventional loan down the line, and get rid of that pmi

Confirm. Though the PMI fund you pay into at loan close never comes back unless you refi like that year lol

Moving sucks. The idea of staying in new places every couple of years is appealing but moving shit around is no good. And I'm just now starting to buy 'me stuff' like to fill the room out with. Can't imagine moving all that on top of bed, computer, boxframe, tv, etc

Generally, home ownership is some settle down and count your blessings shit that people do without fully securing the totality of protections and safety nets necessary to truly be comfortable. And working class types? People will eat shit every day to keep lights on in their 'dream home'. When that job security gets threatened, they don't just look to move. Too much invested. They get irrational and crazy. Arguing over rent is nothing, arguing over estates ruin marriages and tears families apart.
Get married, buy a house, go bankrupt. Far too common to not actively plan against.
I'm not tripping I promise I'm not.

Check your banks. Sometime (rarely) they’ll do standard loans at lower than 20%. My second home I put 15% down so I could use some to remodel and had no PMi
I mean its different when you're moving shit from a house than say an apartment
selling and buying other things works for me I'm not that attached to anything

dy talking about it being a long term, settle down, commitment thing but still went out and got a cat
lol my father was a contractor as well until I was 12 or so and went just full union instead. He even built the house I grew up in. It's nice to own something, it's like a safety net.
People go bankrupt all the time b. Living exactly at your means will do that to you.
If a person saves 10k and stops because they figured they made it that's on that person if their drive is that weak.
But worst case scenario you stay in 1 home after you buy and in my case I would leave generational wealth to my when I die? It's an investment🤷🏿♂️ I can't see it any other way, if it's within your means

Whats the alternative though? stay nomadic forever - never lay down roots anywhere ever unless you become rich?
There are absolutely massive risks - its why I mentioned the cold sweats at the start of this discussion - but I figured as I'm in my early 30s - it was time to do it-
Honestly, I dont know if it will work out - it will be my first property - but

By Daz Go To PostNever thought space travel would become privatised - here we are - is SpaceX just Weyland Yutani in disguise?Well I mean government did the hard part and still does the hard parts but you only get cheaper space travel with privatisation. It will be affordable for us plebs in our own lifetime to go to low earth orbit.
I miss the housing talk?
Moving fucking sucks. If you found a place that doesn't make you wanna leave it then you're good. Also for some Dy a small home purchase is part of the grind to work up to a larger one. It's more difficult now that everything is inflated but used to be you bought a fairly small home then worked up to a bigger family size one if you could afford it. Course this is all predicated on living a very cookie cutter family first lifestyle. There's plenty of people who exist who never went in for that.

My wife wants to buy a house eventually. We'd need a big financial upgrade to be anywhere close to that being a reasonable investment tho. Especially in CA
