By Fenderputty Go To PostThe metrolink in LA aint bad. The subway at night in LA is kinda sketch. If you had to ask me a few years ago whether I would rather spend six hours a day on the Metrolink or 5 hours on the 210/134
Yeah the former

It's probably dependent on the line, but the Metrolink is mostly used by people going to and from work. It's generally NOT filled with people just trying to get around town in LA or Hollywood or whatever. Everyone ignores each other. Chairs are nice. Get a table and you can set up your laptop. Took quite a few naps.
The Red Line … yeesh. Wife and I took that one time to go see wicked. We stayed in DTLA and the show was in Hollywood and the redline leaving Hollywood to get back to DTLA at almost midnight wasn't good.
By domino Go To PostI used to ride the city bus home in HIgh School. Shit was fuckery every day
I rode it in middle school, we had fights on the bus every single day. I'll never forget the day someone threw a stink bomb in the middle of a fight and some girl threw up causing everyone to open up the emergency windows, which led to kids throwing things out the window at cars. The cops were called pretty much every Friday cause of people throwing things at cars or fights. Also these girls jumped this girls mom too when she got on the bus mad cause they jumped her daughters the previous day, was wild.

Anyone familiar with ergonomic office chairs? I'm looking to get a new one and keep it under $1,000. The top candidates I have found (though, not the link I would buy them at):
I'm leaning heavily towards the Capsico Puls because I sit in all kinds of weird ways and it seems to be the most accommodating for that. It's also one of the cheaper chairs.

By Smokey Go To PostChairs and beds. Two things you should absolutely splurge on if you can.
I’m considering a sleep number in tbe next 2-3 years. My back hurts cause my mattress isn’t supportive enough. My wife is half my size and could honestly go softer if she could.
They’re expensive, but they’re not ridiculous until you start getting the super thick soft mattresses and reclining frames.
Their regular mattress and flat frame isn’t tooooo bad

None of these have adjustable lumbar support. I feel like the most important things for an office chair, for me at least, are adjustable lumbar and adjustable arm rests so you don’t get carpal tunnel and you’re wrists arms don’t cramp. Adjustable desk helps with the wrists too. I like my standing desk at work
By i can get you a toe Go To Postkib how tall are you? a lot of chairs are complete shit if you're over like 6'0Under 6'0" but taller than Smokey.

Resting my arms on chair arms while actually typing or using the mouse is an easy path to wrist and shoulder pain for me. I also like bringing in my chair as close as I can to the desk so that i don't have to move my arms out in front as much and arm rests often get in the way of that.
By domino Go To Postthousand dollar chairsNaw, even those are too much for me. All the ones I listed can be found for under 1k new from various places.

Both Capiscos particularly appeal to me because I often sit cross-legged, indian-style or sitting kinda side-saddle with one leg perched up and pulled into my chest such that I almost have my chin resting on it and those two chairs appear to be made for weirdos like me.

This one is comfy and affordable af. You can get all kinds of chairs cheaper too at office liquidators by the way. Ones that aren't even used but marked down still.
They have a high back version if you look for it, for tall bros too.

By diehard Go To PostIf you don't have a Herman Miller chair what are you even doingWas looking at a couple of them but it looks like the Aeron has been surpassed by other chairs in similar price points, the Sayl doesn't quite do it for me, the Cosm is too expensive, and the Embody is way too expensive.
Never had a Herman Miller chair

You want a straight line from arm bone through wrist and hand. Do you sit super reclined?
If you don't really use arm rests much on the chair I linked you can just kept those low and shuffle under a desk. If you ever decide to you can raise them.
I work from home, too, but my desk chairs aren't anything special. Just get up and move from time to time.
I do have to say my low-back, armless chair is more comfortable for longer periods than my high-back armed chair. The material in the cushioning is more resilient. But still, when I'm working, I'm never in the chairs long enough to be bothered. I get up and pace around.
If I were to fall asleep in the chairs, that's when both are lacking.
(I use the low back armless chair when working. I use the other in my "living" room, as I lack any other seating furniture at the moment. I gave my actual living room furniture to charity when I sold my house.)

Honestly, the biggest wrist help for me was adjust my desk height. Back too. I stand about an extra hour of two a day because of it
By Fenderputty Go To PostYou want a straight line from arm bone through wrist and hand. Do you sit super reclined? No, I usually try to sit relatively straight up. But I also like avoiding having my elbows extended out from under my shoulders as it causes unnecessary shoulder strain. Having a chair with arm rests usually means they bump into the desk or are too high or too low to actually use as arm rests. And the support for them get in the way when I change seating positions.
Yes, I know I have niche use-case and requirements.
